Chapter 27 - Meeting Kuroko Tetsuya (1/2)

Shun was passing his time near a hoop that was installed on one of the walls of the stadium. Tokiwadai had got to the stadium early, and the coach allowed them to pass the remaining time as they liked.

Shun, who wanted to spend some time alone, came to the basketball hoop that he had seen before. Shun thought about the Nationals, and he notices that Tokiwadai hadn't faced any difficult opponents.

Shun: 'On the other hand, Teiko faced against Hanamiya Makato, Hayama Kotaro, and now they will be facing against the genius twins in the semi-finals.'

Shun looked towards the sky; today's sky wasn't littered with clouds and shone with a clear sky blue color.

Shun: 'If we win today, we are going to face Teiko tomorrow. It will be tough; every single one of those guys is a prodigy. I don't know how much time would it take me to get used to Kuroko to use Imayoshi's method to render him useless.'

Shun shook his head in an attempt to rid his mind of the thoughts about Teiko.

Shun: 'Why am I musing about Teiko, our next opponent is Meiho. Thinking about Teiko will do me no good in the match against Meiho.'

Shun pulled a jump shot from the same distance as that of the free-throw line, and it went in with a swish. As Shun bent down to pick up the ball, he heard a familiar voice call out to him.

???: ”Kageyama-kun, what are you doing here.”

He turned back to see Satsuki, and with her were Aomine Daiki and Kuroko Tetsuya.

Shun: 'He really has a weak presence, I almost missed him despite watching a full anime series about him.'

Shun: ”Momoi-san, I am just passing the time. What about you, what brings you here.”

Shun turned towards the boys who were standing behind Satsuki,

Shun: ”We meet again, Dai-chan~. Congratulations on making it to the semi-finals.”

Aomine pulled a long face when he heard how Shun called him. He also looked sharply at Satsuki with a glint in his eyes.

Satsuki, on the other hand, shivered when she felt Aomine's glare. Aomine had declared war on her; he was going to make her life hell after the Nationals were over.

Aomine saw that like always, Kuroko wasn't noticed. So he introduced him to Shun.

Aomine: ”Kageyama, meet Kuroko Tetsuya, he is also from Teiko.”

Shun pretended to be surprised. He didn't want Teiko to know that he knew about Kuroko and give away the advantage of catching them off guard.

Shun: ”I am extremely sorry, I didn't see you there, and that was rude of me. Let me introduce myself. I am Kageyama Shun, a first-year at Tokiwadai Middle School. It is a p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e to meet you.”

Kuroko: ”The p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e is all mine. Congratulations to you as well for reaching the semi-finals. Do you think Tokiwadai will reach the finals.”

Shun smiled and said with confidence.

Shun: ”Thanks, and yes, I am sure Tokiwadai will get to the finals. We are going to be playing against Meiho Middle School; they have an unusual player in their team, but we are ready for them. What about Teiko are you guys confident in winning.”

Aomine crossed his arms and said with a confident grin.

Aomine: ”Of course, we are going to win, and not just the semi-finals, we are going to win the finals and become the champions.”

Shun: ”Ho-ho, we will see about that.”

The four talked for a while about their experience in the Nationals and other things.
