Chapter 18 - Training Montage? (1/2)

Shun and Satsuki proceeded to the dining room, leaving their mothers to talk.

They sat down, but no one said anything. Shun decided to break the ice.

Shun: ”You said that you are a manager for the basketball club, where do you go to school.”

Shun, of course, knew what school she attended but he had to start the conversation,

Satsuki: ”I attend Teiko Middle School.”

Shun: ”Really, I saw Teiko's games. Your center is tall; I can't believe that he is still a first-year.”

Satsuki was a fan of basketball and an outgoing girl, so when Shun started the conversation about basketball, she got immersed in talking.

Shun also had fun talking to her; he stayed away from talking about Middle School basketball they talked about basketball in general, Shun told her about the nice places around the neighborhood, they talked about their favorite shows and other things.

By the end of their conversation, both of them had a good first impression of each other.

[A/N: This is it. The result of their first meeting is a good first impression, nothing much but realistic.]

Mrs. Momoi: ”So, what did you kids talk about.”

Satsuki: ”Basketball, shows, places around the neighborhood, school life, and other things.”

Mrs. Momoi: ”You said that he plays basketball, and you are always going on about the Daiki-chan and the team at your school. How do you think he compares to Daiki-chan.”

Satsuki: ”I don't know, the way they play is different, Daiki-chan is the type that is always ready for attacking and is on the receiving end of the passes, whereas, Kageyama-kun is more of a balanced player he participates in all aspects of the game.”

Satsuki: ”But I will say this, Tokiwadai won the Nationals last year and are the reigning champions, him being on the team as a first-year itself shows that he is a talented player. Tokiwadai, like my school, is also heading to the Nationals as a Tokyo representative.”

Mrs. Momoi: ”Who do you think will win if they meet in the Nationals.”

Satsuki: ”Of course, Teiko will win. My school is the best.”

[A/N: She is the manager of Teiko's basketball club, she will want her school to win.]

Satsuki has analyzed the records of the past year of Teiko, and she found that the stats showcased by the current team were better than Teiko had ever seen before.

She was sure that Teiko's performance this year was going to be phenomenal.
