27 Chapter 27: Choko arrives. (1/2)
”Dad, are you sure this is going to work?” A young man with messy red hair asked, ”Is she really going to believe this?”
The man, who wore a doctor's coat, laughed, ”Of course he did, Maicon. Didn't her friends say she lost her memories? It just says you two were engaged. She may doubt it at first, but you'll have a better chance of approaching her and making her fall in love with you.”
”You're a genius, Dad.” Maicon's eyes glowed when he thought about it, ”I'm going to...”
”You'll what?”
Maicon seemed to have seen a ghost. Sitting on the bed, Nero was looking at him threateningly. His father Marlon looked in the same direction as his son, he was also surprised to see that she had awakened.
”I, I...”
”I'm thirsty.” Nero said, ”Bring me a glass of water.”
”Y-Yes, yeah, right now...!”
Maicon got out as fast as a scared rat. Then he came back with a big glass full of water in his hand.
Marlon looked at his astonished son. ”What's going on here? Why does my son seem to have become her servant?”
Maicon passed by his father without saying anything, he approached Nero. ”Here, ma'am.” He said as he delivered the glass towards Nero.
Nero who had an apple in her left hand chewed a piece of it and said, ”Drink!”
”Huh?”
Maicon was confused by this development. Didn't she say she was thirsty? And where did you get that apple from?
”Idiot.” Nero said, ”How am I supposed to know if it's poisoned... Now drink. Don't make me make you drink.” She smiled, the moment she smiled, her eyes became a crescent moon, but for Maicon, no matter how beautiful his smile was, he trembled with fear when he saw it.
”I, I will, I will.” He said and drank almost half a glass of water: ”See? It's not poisoned, you can trust me.”
Nero grabbed the glass, after drinking, she mocked, ”Idiot. You think I'm going to trust someone who was armed to someone who was unconscious!?”
”You...” Maicon was angry when he was called again the idiot. But he didn't have the courage to do anything. Just by looking into her purple violet eyes, he was shivering with fear.
Marlon, who came out of his stupor, looked at Nero, the unbeliever. He pretended to cough and said, ”It's a misunderstanding. We weren't serious.”
”Haha, that's funny.” Nero laughed: ”Are you saying the conversation you and this young man were having, weren't you serious? Do you think I'm a fool?” Nero looked into Marlon's eyes as he said.
”Stop this nonsense.” He said, ”I told you, it's a misunderstanding. If you keep talking nonsense, I'll call security.”
