The human-faced cat lazily stretched its body after spitting that finger out and called out cutely.

“Meow…”

Its voice was shrill and soft, and it looked charmingly innocent. If one ignored its pale, stiff face skin, it could actually qualify for a Pokemon beauty pageant.

Now would be the best time to show off any information on cats one had studied. Li Ang squatted down and squeezed out a small smile.

Regardless of what this whole illogical situation meant, the worst thing he could do was stand there and do nothing.

Hesitation would lead to failure.

“Kitty, kitty. Good kitty…”

Li Ang extended his hand toward the monster cat, as though he wanted to pet it. Under the moonlight, the wooden chopsticks could be vaguely seen where they were hidden within his sleeve.

The human-faced cat completely ignored Li Ang as it continued to lick its paws.

Slowly, Li Ang’s palm inched close, almost touching the monster cat’s furry head. At the same time, he tilted his arm down, allowing the wooden chopsticks hidden inside his sleeve to slide down.

The human-faced cat narrowed its eyes, lifting its wet paws to scratch its ears. It looked as though it was grooming itself and was completely unaware of the approaching danger.

Li Ang’s thumb, which was in the monster cat’s blind spot, caught hold of the wooden chopsticks. At this distance, he could grasp the wooden chopsticks and stick them into its eyes the moment it did anything strange.

The human-faced cat continued to bow its head and groom itself. Then, it softly called out.

“Meow…”

Crack, crack, crack.

Li Ang immediately felt his limbs grow heavy like lead. His joints, stiff like his limbs, felt like they were stuck in mud. He attempted to move his limbs but only a cracking sound was heard.

In a few seconds, Li Ang lost control of his limbs completely. His body stayed in that position with his hand extended, as though he had become a statue.

“Huff… Huff…”

The black cat breathed heavily. Old Lady Zhang’s face crumpled in pain, looking extremely frightening.

A moment later, the black cat’s breathing calmed down and it staggered toward Li Ang.

Li Ang could not do anything but watch as the black cat slowly approached him and leaped onto his knee. It used its pink barbed tongue and lazily licked his chin.

Once, twice… The licking motion increased in speed. The tip of the tongue pierced the skin, leaving behind streaks of blood and cold stabbing pain.

Goosebumps spread across his body. This was when Li Ang realized that Zhang Cuilian had not fallen unconscious due to complications of diabetes.

Like him, her body had been locked in place by the monster cat. She had only been able to watch as her face, fingers, and toes were eaten away.

Chills ran down his spine, and he felt as though he had fallen into a deep icy lake.

Li Ang clenched his jaws. Even though he tried his best to pull his muscles taut, only his stiff, numb eyes, nose, and tongue twitched slightly.

The human-faced cat seemed to have tasted enough of the blood and licked its paws in satisfaction. Then, it opened its jaws wide and bit Li Ang’s chin.

Clink.

The fangs of the monster cat pierced skin and blood flowed down, following the lines of Li Ang’s throat.

It could no longer hold in its strong desire to consume blood and flesh. It needed to bite, to chew, to savor, to swallow… to devour the two-legged beasts who usually acted so arrogantly.

The monster cat happily drank Li Ang’s blood, moving its limbs to rip apart the handmade vest it was wearing.

The pale yellow pet vest landed on the floor.
