Dyon's jaw's locked tighter when he realized the array had barely had an effect, but he had expected this.

The bull-bird didn't even roar in anger as its mouth opened wide, keen on tasting Dyon's flesh. This is what this n.a.k.e.d mole rat gets for ruining my things. You had better taste good!
