Part 17 (1/2)
”Closing off to others,” he communicated, ”is a tendency that those in our family inherited, as surely as the color of our eyes. But seeing the history of a problem, and truthfully acknowledging it, allows us to let it go. And now,” he went on, ”the Afterlife is changing. We don't have to wait until reunion over here. You are close enough to us now to reach out to us, so we can resolve everything immediately. Once those blocks are clear, you can understand what we know.”
In an instant, I knew my resentments were gone. I might still go into aloofness out of habit, but less and less without being immediately conscious of it. I knew from the old Prophecy that once we become conscious of the drama we play, its strength diminishes.
With those thoughts, he began to fade until I could no longer see him.
”Wait,” I said out loud. ”There's more I want to ask.”
At that point, I could no longer feel him, and I almost went into the same panic I had felt when he died. I looked at Rachel, whose gaze said to tune in. So I brought back the memory of how it felt when he was present, and immediately he was there, although this time only as a mild distortion in s.p.a.ce, like heat waves rising from a hot highway. But it didn't matter. His Feeling Ident.i.ty was there, and that was the most important thing.
”You mentioned I could understand more,” I said to him. ”What were you talking about?”
I heard: ”Just watch.”
After he had gone, I suddenly realized it was dawn and the light was creating even more beauty in the sky and rocks around me.
Turning to look at Rachel, I was jolted. She was now surrounded by several other people. It came to me that the woman closest to her was her mother, and instantly I knew that she and Rachel had had a catharsis similar to the one between my father and me.
I also knew something else: I was being shown all this for a reason. As with my father, her mother had been unable to turn her attention to other matters, because she was so focused on resolving with Rachel. Later, when she and Rachel had cleared the past, they had communicated while Rachel was in the earthly plane and her mother was in the Afterlife. This communication, and others like it, were breaking new ground. The hurt and resentment was being healed across the two dimensions. The significance was that both dimensions of existence had, in that act of reconciliation, been made more free and clear, and thus resonated at a higher level of consciousness with each other.
I tuned in to my father and felt a sweeping confirmation. Many in the Afterlife yearned for the same release of pent-up regrets-for truths not said, for actions not taken, as did those on Earth. And now, with the Integrations lifting our consciousness, we were close enough so that we could communicate across the dimensions. And as a result, both Heaven and Earth were being energized and raised to another level.
Suddenly, I thought of a Bible Prophecy from the book of Revelation about the end times: ”... And there will be a New Earth and a New Heaven ...” Now we knew how this Prophecy was coming true.
With that thought, the action suddenly stopped all around me, and everyone, especially Rachel, turned and looked at me. They all seemed elated at my conclusion.
”You're getting the Tenth Integration,” Rachel said. ”All you have to do is keep tuning in, and you'll soon know all that Heaven knows.”
With that, the group surrounding Rachel started walking down the slope, if you could call it walking. It actually seemed more like gliding. Those who were presumably permanent occupants of the Afterlife had bodies similar to ours, although they moved along the ground with legs that seemed to merely flicker in the walking motion rather than actually push themselves along the ground. All Rachel and I could do was run as best we could to keep up, although I noticed, after a while, that Rachel had begun to appear the same way as the others.
At this point, it didn't matter. I still had no fear, and as I basked in a full Agape state, I knew without a doubt that I was going to be shown many things here. We walked up the incline through a series of jagged spires and worked our way onto another ledge of rock that had turned-up edges, like the railings of a deck. From here, we could see a magnificent view of Mount Sinai's summit, as well as down toward the trails leading up the mountain.
Suddenly, everyone began watching a troop of Egyptian soldiers huddled together toward the north. Something seemed to have happened to one of the soldiers. They were desperately trying to revive him, wetting him down with water, and fanning him in an effort to cool him off.
”Sunstroke,” Rachel said.
Finally, they gave up and covered the body, then lifted him and began carrying him back toward the guard station. We could see dozens of other luminous people walking beside the soldiers, seemingly talking to them. The soldiers, however, could not see them and weren't paying any attention.
”What are they saying to the soldiers?” I asked Rachel.
”Listen for yourself,” she replied.
I tuned in to their conversation and instantly knew what was being communicated. The luminous people were using the Oneness Principle and Agape to merge with the soldiers, seeking to increase the consciousness of the military men, hoping they would become aware that they were walking toward danger.
Now I could see why. Forty yards ahead of them were people with weapons, hiding near a rocky mound. I caught sight of several I recognized. It was the Apocalyptics, dozens of them, readying their guns to protect something on the other side of the mound.
”They're running right into the extremists,” I blurted, looking at Rachel and the others. They didn't return my gaze. All eyes were resolutely focused on the group of soldiers.
I then looked at the Apocalyptics, and to my amazement saw that they, too, had dozens of luminous individuals encircling them, also attempting to lift them into a larger awareness, wanting them to find their own higher-self Connection.
I realized then that the luminous people wanted the soldiers to see something-a fork in the path ahead that would take them in a more northerly route, out of danger.
I hurried to add my own energy to the effort, going through the procedure of intending Oneness with the soldiers until I could feel the Agape with them. I tried to visualize that they would open up, feel the danger. But the soldiers seemed undeterred, increasing their pace toward the Apocalyptics.
Suddenly, I again felt that comforting sensation that I had experienced when falling as a youth, the one that told me all was going to be okay. I also saw something unusual: flickers of light surrounding the soldiers. For a moment, nothing changed. The captain of the group looked to be leading them straight to their doom. Then, his pace gradually slowed to a halt, and he waved to his men to take the northerly route to safety. A wave of celebration swept through the luminous helpers.
”How did that work?” I asked Rachel.
She said, ”The soldiers were being lifted toward a Heaven consciousness, at least a little bit, so that a premonition could come through to warn them.”
”Is it a matter of people here just wis.h.i.+ng with all their might that a particular outcome will happen?”
”No. In some situations, the best outcome to visualize is obvious. But other situations aren't so clear. Therefore, the people here are purely seeking to join minds with those on the earthly side. Apparently, that's all it takes. A higher consciousness always has the effect of lifting someone at a lower consciousness up to a higher level.”
She grinned at me. ”As Coleman might put it, if someone who has more pathways activated in the brain merges minds with someone with fewer, the pathways in the person at the lower level tend to pop open as a result of the contagion effect. Of course, there are other ways to amplify our influence even more, as you'll see in the next Integration. But this is the basic way it works.”
I already knew the answer but I asked the next question anyway. ”What were those flickers of light around the soldiers?”
She gave me a smile. ”Angels. They spontaneously come in to help, especially if we remember to request it.”
Acting as though she was in a hurry, Rachel suddenly told me there was something else I needed to see. We moved down the slope a bit farther to another area where we could see toward the east, away from Sinai. We sat down without talking and gazed out over the vista of ridges cascading down toward the desert floor.
A movement to my left attracted my attention. We could see a lone soldier stumbling down the rocks as if dazed. He looked much more luminous than the soldiers we'd seen before.
”He must be the soldier who died,” Rachel said.
The man suddenly sat down and stared into s.p.a.ce without moving.
”What's he doing?” I asked, then remembered to tune in. Immediately, I began to get impressions of what was happening. The man was having a life review, realizing how many opportunities to follow his destiny he had missed or had been too afraid to pursue. His focus s.h.i.+fted to his wife, and I felt his face grimace over how immature he knew he had been, preferring to spend time with his friends and not enough with their five-year-old child.
Yet he was sure the child was the best part of his destiny. He had known from the first moment he had seen his wife that they would marry and have a child, and the child would go on to accomplish many things. He also knew he was supposed to have given his daughter many lessons during her life. How, he wondered, could he do that now. I looked at Rachel.
”He will soon find out how he can help her,” she said with twinkling eyes. ”Won't he?”
Suddenly, the man jumped to his feet and began looking around wildly.
”What's he doing now?” I asked.
”He knows,” she replied, ”that there is something unresolved with his father. And he can't find him.”
The soldier began to fade until we could barely see him.
”What's happening?” I asked. ”Where is he going?”
She looked at me with concern. ”You may not want to go there.”
”Why?”
