C60 Source of Blue Light (2/2)

”... Darwin, do you have a girlfriend? ” Sayaka asked.

”Nope.”

”Then... What type of girl do you like? ” Sayaka asked softly.

”Sayaka, do you think that there are girls that can withstand his character?” I rolled my eyes.

Sayaka actually did not speak.

Darwin did not say anything either.

I felt a little awkward crawling around in the middle.

”Pfft.”

Just as I was about to relieve the atmosphere, I suddenly farted.

I was wrong.

In the darkness, I could feel Darwin starting to move at full speed.

After a while, the cave suddenly opened up and we began to walk in a crouch.

There was the sound of water.

I could clearly feel the temperature and humidity around me rising.

There was light.

Blue light.

In front of us, is actually a larger cave space.

As far as the eye could see, the endless surface of the underground lake was suffused with a faint blue glow. It was like the Milky Way, sparkling and dimming.

The surrounding stone walls were filled with clumps of brightly colored flowers that bloomed amidst the luster of the waves.

The searchlight we had brought could reach up to a distance of two thousand meters. Now, we were shining the searchlight everywhere. The light beam was completely out of reach.

”M!” I shouted.

No one responded, only the echo winding around the beam.

Darwin ignored us, but stared at his electronic watch.

”You just yelled that, and the echo disappeared in about fifteen seconds. The speed at which sound travels in the air is 340 meters per second, so this is at least 12 million square meters. ”

”Oh my god,” Sayaka exclaimed. ”This is the real Sea of Lost in the Indian legends!”

So it turns out that the real Sea of Lost is still deeper underground!

”So hot …”

I don't know if it was the tension or the rising temperature in the cave, but I was sweating and soaking my clothes.

”The water here is coming from a place closer to the earth's crust, like a hot spring, so the temperature of the entire cave is higher than it is outside.” Darwin whispered.

Sayaka and I didn't hear what he said at all, and each took out our phones to take a picture.

”Hey, you two don't want to die!” Darwin said in a low voice. ”I still don't know what's going on.”

”This is a major discovery of the geography world! The three of us found it! You might even end up naming this place after us! ” I couldn't suppress the excitement in my heart. ”If we don't take some pictures now, how can we prove that we've come here in the future?”

Sayaka also nodded with all her might.

Seeing that it could not stop us, Darwin sighed, ”Turn off the flash.”

My mobile phone is also the first generation of Motorola color screen phones, no flash light 2 million pixels out of the dark as shit. Sayaka's phone was not much better. We clapped for a while and gave up.

Darwin took off his jacket, observed the interior of the cave, and extinguished the flashlight.

The only remaining source of light was the dim blue glow that emanated from the lake. Using the light, we slowly climbed down the stalactite outside the cave. After climbing about fifteen meters, we finally landed on the ground.

There was a thick layer of moss growing on the ground. Only when we got close to the lake shore did I realize that the blue fluorescence was coming from the bottom of the water, not the surface. Every speck of light was slowly moving.

”It's the angler that's shining in the water!” I finally saw a dot of light.

The angler is what we call a lightbulb fish. Its teeth are terrifying, but it has a cute little light bulb on top of its head — millions of luminescent bacteria, in fact — to attract other small fish for food.

”Kawaiya ~ ~” Sayaka immediately recognized it as a common ingredient used in Japan.

”These fish must have lived in the dark for many generations. Their eyes have completely degenerated.”

In addition to the fish, there were many transparent fish the size of a thumb in the water. These fish did not emit light and had no eyes. Their bodies were transparent and the flow of blood under their skin could be seen.

We squatted down and looked closely at the snakefish that surrounded the shore. They had no eye sockets at all, and their cheeks were as smooth as if they had never had an organ like an eye.

”Blind Catfish …” Sayaka was indeed from Stabbing Body Nation, she knew all about the fish like the back of her hand.

”What kind of fish is this?” I asked Sayaka.

”The blind catfish is a kind of catfish. It can lay many eggs each year. It reproduces very quickly and is a scavenger …”

As soon as I mentioned catfish, I immediately understood. Isn't it one of our common food ponds for southerners?

In the past, when I was in primary school, Shuyue wouldn't let me eat it.

I remember one episode where I walked into an unscientific program and introduced a family's toilet. The noise came from catfish that fell into the toilet. This fish's ability to adapt to the environment has reached a heaven-defying level.

”Judging from the complete degeneration of these fish eyes, they have lived here for at least two hundred thousand to four hundred thousand years.” Darwin said.

”How do you know?”

”I guessed.”

Wipe.
