”You can't leave first.”

”What do you want?” Shuyue immediately stood in front of me.

”We're going to take her back, make inquiries and search.” The foreigner said.

”Didn't you just see it? She had already thrown her things out of the roof. She hasn't done anything, and according to our agreement, you can't do anything to her! ” Shuyue said.

”Our agreement is that we not only have to take the kid, but we also have to get the syringe. Now that the syringe is gone … ”

”If you dare touch her, I won't go with you.” Shuyue said coldly.

I looked at Shuyue suspiciously. Go?

Where are you going?

”Shuyue, who are these people?” I asked.

”I will tell you when I have the chance.” Shuyue patted my hand, then turned to the foreigner. ”Your boss is very clear that this can only be done voluntarily, and only then will I go anywhere if you want to break the agreement.”

Voluntary? What voluntary?

Just as I wanted to ask, I was stopped by a glare from Shuyue.

The foreigner looked at Shuyue for a few seconds.

The conversation with me was very quiet. They didn't hear it because of the typhoon.

The syringe was still in my pocket. My heart leaped.

We can't let these guys have it.

One second, two seconds... The foreigner and Shuyue did not speak. He stared at them cautiously, as if he was evaluating something.

Then he made a call.

”She can go, the boss agrees.”

Shuyue pulled me into the elevator without looking back.

”Shuyue, my mother … ”Why did I call her just now? She ignored me, saying that she won't be able to wake up …” As soon as the elevator doors closed, my tears began to flow.

”Don't be too worried,” Shuyue laughed, ”The owners of these Americans have the world's top pharmaceutical companies and brain hospitals. They've cured more difficult cases than your mother. Although her brain was severely damaged, if she could be sent there to be treated, she would slowly recover. ”

”Really?” I asked anxiously.

”Can you talk nonsense about this? At least I'm a serious scientist. ” Shuyue rebuked.

”Then... How long will it take my mother to recover? ”

Shuyue's eyes dimmed for a moment. ”I don't know … But to fully recover, it will take at least two to three years. ”

”In order not to delay the treatment, your mother must be sent to the United States as soon as possible, and we are going to the United States as well.”

”Ah?” ”But I'm going to take the high school exam now …”

”Don't worry, I'll follow you back to school tomorrow to complete the withdrawal procedures.”

The elevator door opened.

”Go see your mother.” Shuyue said.

Mom was already lying on the emergency bed. The ambulance didn't say which hospital she was from, but it was more advanced than any I'd seen before.

The interior was spacious and well-equipped, equipped with not only a ventilator but also rescue equipment such as ECG monitors, ultraviolet disinfection lights, and some equipment I couldn't name. A nurse was cleaning the hemostatic bandages on a metal cleaning table. There was even a small blood bank on the other side of the ambulance.

I remember last year when I met a gang of hooligans in front of the school. The student who called the police called the provincial ambulance, which looked like an ordinary golden van with no equipment, only a single stretcher bed.

Another nurse was by the emergency bed, giving my mother a blood transfusion. She had a simple debridement and suture procedure on her back.

”Mom …” I pressed her hand against the bed and gently called out to her. Her hands didn't seem so cold anymore.

”This is the Mr Rhode's private ambulance. There is no safer ambulance in China than this woman. There are now two groups of brain specialists from the Medical College waiting at the airport in collaboration with the medical staff. We have booked the International VIP terminal. They will give the lady an emergency treatment before boarding. At 5 in the morning, Ms. Lin will be sent by Mr Rhode's private plane to Atlanta, Brain and Nerve Medical College. ”

A golden-haired beauty who was at least 1.75 meters tall and dressed in a black suit was standing behind me, introducing her to Shuyue in Chinese.

Shuyue did not care about her, and looked towards one of the black carriages.

”Give me a little more time.” Shuyue said.

The golden-haired beauty maintained her standard smile, but her tone seemed to have gained a bit of pressure.

”We don't have much time.”

Shuyue glanced at me: ”As long as you don't go against my words, I will keep my promise, but I need some time to settle my own matters.”

The blonde woman nodded slightly: ”Please don't make any decisions that will trouble us like last time.”

”Tu Xinlei is dead. No one in the world is worth it anymore. ” Shuyue seemed to be replying, but also seemed to be talking to herself.

”Very good, then —” The blonde reached out a hand. ”SeeyouinUS.”

Shuyue didn't reach out to her, but turned and walked towards me coldly.

”Lina, be strong. You'll get better. We'll be waiting for you.” Before the medical personnel pushed my mother into the ambulance, Lina suddenly bent down and whispered to her.

We watched the ambulance drive away, followed by two black Audi.

Two or three others were still nearby, searching for the things I had thrown down from the roof.

At the rate these people were searching, they would soon find the two paints I had dropped.

My heart was pounding, and I couldn't let the syringe fall into the wrong hands again, or it would happen again more than sixty years ago.

Shuyue glanced at me, as if she had seen through my thoughts: ”If they can let you go, it means that this syringe is not very important to them.”
