945 Ambition and Mental Demon (1/2)

Dark Python and Red Tarantula. Interesting!

After taking care of the loose ends, Fang Yuan left the room and re-entered the darkness.

Earlier, he had used a mixture of powders, hypnosis, and spells to induce a heart attack on Jarvis. With the police's current power, there was no way they could find any clues. They could only conclude that it was an unexpected death.

Besides, even if someone suspected that it was a homicide, they would never trace it back to him.

After all, he was nothing more than an ordinary student. Furthermore, his future was bright. Why would he disappear in the middle of the night to murder someone?

Even if they found any evidence, it would point to a person in a black coat. Furthermore, it was highly likely they would think that an Extraordinary had done it. They would not suspect an ordinary person at all.

However, he did manage to obtain a lot of information from Jarvis's sleep talking.

For instance, within the Human Alliance, there was also the dark side, and its power spanned across many planets.

Jarvis was an informant of Red Tarantula. On top of that, there was also Dark Python, Red Tarantula's most significant enemy.

Within Red Tarantula, Jarvis was nothing more than a lackey, equivalent to an expendable pawn in Flying Rainbow City. His only job seemed to be chasing Ling Fei'er and finding a way to enter the Ling Corporation.

A person like this was easily replaceable, which explained why Jarvis had many insecurities. He desperately wanted to achieve something to establish his presence. Eventually, Fang Yuan entered his life and ended it all.

My stats window hasn't unlocked yet. I have to become an Arcanist and cultivator as soon as possible to become a true Extraordinary…

Fang Yuan felt a certain pressure in his heart.

No matter how perfect his methods were, those high-level Arcanists and cultivators might be able to trace it to him.

Of course, he was merely being cautious. In the short-term, this was impossible.

However, he still wanted to make preparations for the worst-case scenario.

Hmm… if Red Tarantula decides to deploy a high-level cultivator to investigate this, it would be a complete waste of resources. They'd be insane to do that. However, they'd still send someone to look into it. Maybe if my luck is good, I can just get away with it…

Fang Yuan thought carefully, When I get to university, I can learn the Scientific Cultivation Method and come into contact with all sorts of precious and strange things. After researching all of this, I won't have anything left to do here…

He was a Demon God from the outside world after all. He did not plan to stay in this world for the rest of his life. Those people's goals meant nothing to him.

The next day, Fang Yuan opened his browser. After searching the web, he found a piece of news. ”Flying Rainbow City student found dead at home. The cause of death was a heart attack. The mayor calls for students to take care of their physical and mental health…”

”The news only tells a cover story, but the general tone is set!”

Fang Yuan nodded. He knew that a case like this would result in the conclusion of an unexpected death. Otherwise, it would stir public opinion. The death of an enrolling university student in their home was not a simple matter.

As for whether there would be an ongoing investigation on the matter, he could not tell.

”However, I didn't leave a single trace when I killed him. I even used normal powders. Even if they perform an autopsy, they won't find a thing. Unless they send a high-level cultivator, there's no way they'll figure it out…”

As he ran through these thoughts, Fang Yuan put on his school uniform and went to school to fill in the application form.

Naturally, he put down East Dragon University as his first choice. On top of that, he did not choose a major. According to what he knew, cultivation universities taught introductory courses to the Scientific Cultivation Method at the start. After reaching the later stages, they'd start to draw distinctions.

Fang Yuan liked the way they organized the curriculum. After all, high school seniors used meditation techniques most and had not learned much about cultivation. How would they know what they wanted to major in?

Nearby, Xiao Hongyue looked at him strangely. Finally, she could not help asking, ”Do you know that Jarvis is dead?”

”What?” Fang Yuan responded. ”What happened?”

”A forensic specialist concluded that it was a heart attack…” Xiao Hongyue looked at Fang Yuan suspiciously, then used her spiritual will. Finally, she mocked herself, What am I thinking?

”I see…”

Fang Yuan looked a little shocked, as if a tremendous burden had left his shoulders.

”You should take care too…”

Xiao Hongyue said a few words of little substance and then sent Fang Yuan on his way. She returned to her office and turned on a screen. ”Father! I've verified that Lin Meng is still an ordinary person!”

”An ordinary person?” Within the screen, a middle-aged man with bright eyes replied, ”It seems like we can rule out school grievances. It was probably Dark Python or Red Tarantula who made a move to silence the boy.”

”Dark Python? Red Tarantula?” Xiao Hongyue's eyes revealed her disbelief. She seemed wary.

”I've seen Jarvis's body. There was nothing unusual about it. This is the most unusual thing about it! The forensic specialist couldn't find a single trace even after performing an autopsy. A top-class assassin must have done it!” the middle-aged man replied gruffly.

”However, Jarvis is just one of their pawns. It's unlikely that Dark Python would have done this… I presume Red Tarantula must have sent someone to finish him off because Jarvis's actions have crossed the line recently. Hmph, to think that he wanted to enslave cultivators. Does he think university is a playground? Even if this didn't happen, he wouldn't have had a good end!” he said coldly in the tone of someone used to commanding others. Evidently, he was in a high position of power.

”Jarvis is just an insignificant pawn. These two organizations are my real goal!”

”High school, huh…”
