Chapter 515 - Was Several Stories High (1/2)

Zheng Ren’s hand paused for a moment.

Sister Zhao noticed Zheng Ren’s hand and did not understand.

Within the medical circle, was it not normal for someone to ask another to treat a patient? Why did Zheng Ren seem to have something on his mind when he mentioned Teacher Gao from the First Affiliated Hospital of Provincial Capital Medical University?

However, Sister Zhao did not say anything and waited for Zheng Ren.

“Sister Zhao, let me tell you something.” Zheng Ren only paused for a moment before he got a hold of himself and continued with the 64-slice CT scan with 3D-image reconstruction. “I’m very good at interventional treatment for liver cancer.”

“How good?” Sister Zhao was a little unhappy, but it was not good for her to have an episode. While she answered Zheng Ren pa.s.sively, she was thinking about who she should contact, the First Affiliated Hospital of Provincial Capital Medical University, Beijing, or Shanghai.

“It’s several stories high,” Zheng Ren said with a smile. “If you want to contact the First Affiliated Hospital of Provincial Capital Medical University, it definitely won’t be a problem. But…if you want to go there, you might as well stay at Sea City General Hospital and let me do the surgery.”

Sister Zhao was speechless in her heart.

d.a.m.n, it was easy for young people to become arrogant. How long had he been the hospital’s Chief Resident? He was already saying that his standard was higher than the professors at the First Affiliated Hospital of Provincial Capital Medical University?

Zheng Ren did not hear sister Zhao’s reply. He sighed in his heart and stopped operating the machine temporarily. He took out his phone and found Gao Shaojie’s number to make a call.

He made sure to put the phone on speaker mode before he continued the 64-slice CT scan with 3D-image reconstruction so that no time would be wasted.

“Sister Zhao, I’ll contact Teacher Gao right away. Bed s.p.a.ce will not be a problem. You can be hospitalized whenever you’re available,” Zheng Ren said immediately.

‘Hm, he’s finally starting to make sense,’ Sister Zhao thought to herself. However, he was still young. Would it be so easy for him to find a hospital bed in the Provincial Capital?

The phone’s beeping sound accompanied Zheng Ren as he did his work. After five or six beeps, Gao Shaojie answered the call.

“h.e.l.lo, Teacher Zheng.” Gao Shaojie’s voice bounced off the walls of the CT operating room.

Sister Zhao was stunned.

It was within Sister Zhao’s expectations that Zheng Ren would address Gao Shaojie as Teacher Gao. However, why would Professor Gao of the First Affiliated Hospital of Provincial Capital Medical University address Zheng Ren as Teacher Zheng?

Was it not the other way around?

Moreover, Gao Shaojie’s tone was filled with surprise and…nervousness?

Why would he be nervous when talking to Zheng Ren?

She was not a fool. Sister Zhao could hear the silent, unspoken meanings behind Gao Shaojie’s words.

These mixed signals seemed to contradict each other like a tidal wave, making her surge with questions.

“h.e.l.lo, Teacher Gao.” Zheng Ren said absent-mindedly while operating the machine to get Li Chen’s scans. “I have a patient here I need a bed for in your hospital. I’ll get them to look for you.”

After hearing Zheng Ren say this, Sister Zhao was immediately dumbfounded.

The Provincial Capital was very close to Sea City. Many patients used various connections to go to the Provincial Capital to see a doctor. Although Sister Zhao was only a member of the auxiliary department, she also had her connections for stuff like this.

The doctors and even the Director of Sea City General Hospital were all courteous toward other directors and professors from the Provincial Capital.

After all, they would usually be requesting help. Being polite usually helped them leave a good impression on everyone else. It was common for people to not show their true colors no matter what.

However, Zheng Ren seemed to be speaking in such a demanding tone. Was he trying to court death?

“Ah?” Gao Shaojie’s puzzled voice came from Zheng Ren’s loudspeaker.

Sister Zhao’s heart clenched. It seemed that Teacher Gao was unhappy.

“Teacher Zheng, you’re not joking, right?” Gao Shaojie then asked in puzzlement. “You want me to do the surgery? Wouldn’t it be more… I got it! This is for someone else, right?”

“Yes, it’s for an acquaintance of mine. You saw her last time when she came to do the 64-slice CT scan with 3D-image reconstruction. A neighbor of hers wants to visit Sea City General Hospital for a checkup but she’s afraid that people might talk,” Zheng Ren answered subconsciously.
