After saying that, Zheng Ren led Lawyer Ge into the ICU.

Su Yun followed behind. He turned around and glanced at Du Chunfang’s parents with a cold gaze.

“Chief Zheng, is the patient conscious?” After entering, Lawyer Ge immediately asked about the crux of the matter.

“She’s currently in a suction machine-a.s.sisted state… Su Yun, is Du Chunfang conscious?” Zheng Ren asked.

“She’s in a stable condition right now,” Su Yun said in the simplest words possible.

“That makes the whole thing quite troublesome right now,” Lawyer Ge said calmly. “Legally speaking, when the patient is not conscious, the lover and parents have custody and can decide whether to give up treatment or not.”

Zheng Ren’s heart froze over.

“Is there no other way?” Zheng Ren asked hopefully.

Lawyer Ge slowly shook his head.

Zheng Ren was speechless.

He believed in Lawyer Ge’s professional ability. Otherwise, he would not have sat in the Traffic Police Chief’s office and looked down at everyone. It was as if he was saying that everyone present was trash.

However, now even Lawyer Ge was telling him that there were no other options left.

“Hey, you must have made a mistake.” Su Yun frowned and said, “What nonsense are you talking about?”

“Huh?” Zheng Ren let Su Yun criticize him. He immediately recalled what he was mistaken about.

“The patient only used a suction machine to a.s.sist her breathing for a long time to avoid agitation. As such, a tranquilizer was used to calm her down. It’s not a cerebral hemorrhage, so she’s just unconscious,” Su Yun said.

“Can she recover in a short amount of time?” Lawyer Ge asked immediately.

“Yes,” Su Yun said. He waved his hand and hurried into the ICU.

Zheng Ren’s hope was greatly increased. He instructed Lawyer Ge to change into a sterile suit as the two of them followed him into the ICU.

“The patient used midazolam. Continue pumping 50mg of midazolam to calm her down.” Su Yun had seen the doctor’s advice clearly. After that, he said to Zheng Ren, “If necessary, use flumazenil midazolam as an antagonist and inject 4mg into the muscle.”

After hesitating for a moment, Su Yun said, “This dosage is a bit much. However, considering the patient’s young age and the fact that she’s facing such a situation, I still recommend this dosage.”

“Wait a moment,” Zheng Ren said. Then, he looked at Lawyer Ge and asked, “What doc.u.ments do you need to sign?”

“Well, there’s a printer here. Wait for me to use my phone as a hotspot. I’ll download a doc.u.ment, make some modifications, and print it out. It’ll take effect after the patient signs it,” said Lawyer Ge.

Zheng Ren finally let out a long breath.

The doctors and nurses in the ICU were all dumbfounded.

He had brought the lawyer to the ICU to handle the doc.u.ment so quickly?

Chief Zheng was good.

The ICU was not very unfamiliar with this kind of thing. Some old people on the verge of death usually signed doc.u.ments for the division of the estate in the ICU as they needed to leave behind audio-visual information.

However, this was the first time they had encountered something like this. They were allowing the patient to decide for herself whether or not to pull the plug.

“Is there anyone we can trust?” Lawyer Ge was used to seeing the dark side in people. Adding on the fact that he was pressed for time, he immediately asked such a direct question that gave Zheng Ren a headache.

Could the young man be trusted?

Zheng Ren hesitated for a moment.

While he was hesitating, the ICU door opened as Chief Physician Pan and Medical Services’ Chief Zhou walked in.
