Part 22 (1/2)

The sound of hoofbeats not far off grabbed Jeb's attention. He was just about to turn around and try to take the man's gun while he was distracted when a bullet whirled past him, and a loud grunt followed. He fell to the ground and rolled over to see the man had fallen as well and was reaching for his gun when Drew walked up holding a gun at her side. She aimed it at the fallen man.

”Go ahead and grab for it. I want to put a bullet through your brain so badly I can taste it.”

”Do you know him?” Jeb asked, coming to his knees.

”This is the old foreman, Harry Smith.” Drew walked over and kicked his gun out of his reach.

”You took my ranch. It was supposed to be mine when he died. He promised it to me.” The man held his hand to his chest where Drew had shot him.

About that time, Marshall and Kenny rode up. Both men jumped from their horses to see if any of them were hurt. Jeb climbed to his feet and walked over to where Drew was holding the gun on Henry.

”Here, let me do that for you.” He reached for the gun.

”No, you're not supposed to have a gun. The sheriff will be here soon. He'll handle this.” Drew kept the gun aimed at the man. ”Henry, who were you working with? I know you didn't do all that c.r.a.p by yourself.”

”I ain't telling you nothing.”

Jeb walked over and put his foot on the man's shoulder and applied pressure.

”Brett! d.a.m.n it, that hurts. Stop it. Brett hired me to sabotage your ranch, but it wasn't working. Then you got these men helping you, and he got p.i.s.sed off. He really wanted to marry you, Drew.”

Jeb took his foot off the man's shoulder.

”Who else was shooting at us besides you?”

”Walter Jeffers, from Brett's ranch.”

Jeb heard the unmistakable, and now very predictable, sounds of the sheriff's cars coming up the drive. He didn't like Drew having to deal with shooting Henry, but she was right, he wasn't supposed to have a gun.

”What in the h.e.l.l are you doing, Henry?” The sheriff walked up and checked his wound. ”Looks like you get a ride in the ambulance.” He looked up at the four of them and winced.

”Okay, who shot him?”

”I did.” Drew handed him her rifle. ”He shot at us and then threatened to kill Jeb. I didn't have any choice. I couldn't let him do it.”

”Whose fingerprints am I going to find on this gun and the bullets inside?” He looked straight at Jeb.

”Mine. I loaded the rifle, and I shot the rifle.” Drew held out her hands. ”You should still be able to smell it on my hands.”

He held one of her hands and sniffed.

”h.e.l.l, I guess we've got a mess on our hands.”

”It gets worse, sheriff,” Kenny said.

”What?”

”Henry, tell him who put you up to it and why.” Kenny kicked him in the side.

”Kenny,” the sheriff warned him. ”Henry, tell me what's going on.”

The man laid it out on the line. How he'd wanted revenge and Brett knew it, so he hired him to cause problems around Drew's ranch so she would have to sell to him and marry him. When that didn't work, and she got help on the ranch, he got mad and wanted revenge himself.

”It was all his idea to shoot at them. I wouldn't have gone that far, but he was threatening to turn me in if I didn't help him.”

One of the deputies walked up. ”Got an ambulance on the way.”

”Okay, I want each of you to give my deputies your statements individually. Then you can come to town and sign them once they've gotten them typed up. I figure the judge will enjoy this little mess you've got. Looks like I've got to go pay Brett a visit next.”

”Drew, you've got yourself some good men here. Don't know as I would have ever trusted them to begin with, but I think they're good men.”

”Thanks, Sheriff. I know they're good men.” She wrapped her arms around Jeb and Marshall and hugged them.

Long hours later, Jeb and Marshall soaped Drew up and bathed her as she relaxed in her tub. Jeb figured she deserved a little special treatment, though he wanted to wring her neck for endangering herself by coming out in the first place.

”Umm, that feels so good,” she purred as they each circled a breast with their hands.

”Just wait until we've got you all squeaky clean. Then I think you're going to feel even better,” Marshall told her.

Jeb smiled. He planned on spanking her a.s.s as he f.u.c.ked her there. He couldn't wait. In the meantime, he enjoyed playing with her. She was so d.a.m.n responsive to them. He rinsed her breast and then moved his hand down her abdomen to her p.u.s.s.y. He rubbed her mound and gently tugged on the curls there. Then he slipped a finger inside her and pumped it in and out until she was making waves in the water trying to take more.

”You're going to make a mess on the floor if you keep that up,” Marshall said with a grin.

”Maybe we need to take this to the bed, boys.” Drew reached up for one of the men to pull her to her feet.

Jeb helped her out of the tub then grabbed a towel to dry her off. Marshall took another one, and between them, they soon had her dry and warm. Jeb carried her to the bed that Marshall had already turned down in preparation for them needing the room on it.

He laid her down on the bed, and Marshall walked around the other side. He pulled under her arms to slide her farther on the bed. Then he reached down and kissed her.
