”You know what? You should even be thanking me right now for having the trouble of visiting you this late at night rather than acting all high and mighty before me...”

Mu Yanxiao replied with the same level of cattiness that Mu Lingxi gave her.

She even put her arms across her bosom when she said those words.

Thinking that by doing so, her cousin would get all worked up upon hearing her words.

According to the usual script, her cousin, Mu Lingxi, should have been all flustered by now and it would only be a matter of seconds before she would start to lower herself to asked Mu Yanxiao's cooperation.

Pleading at her to tell what exactly was that news all about.

Mu Yanxiao was expecting as much reaction as that from her cousin so she watched attentively for any change that would happen within Mu Lingxi's facial reaction

After all, that was how the script of a typical drama usually goes.

But to their dismay, Mu Lingxi looked like she did not even care at all for the piece of news that Mu Yanxiao had with her.

Sad to say, Mu Lingxi was not someone who would follow the usual script.

”Lady Yanxiao, if you don't have any plan of telling it to me, then so be it. Let us just say I'm not interested to hear any of it. Okay??? If that was all that you have to say, then I will be taking my leave then. Goodbye!”

Mu Lingxi said with a flat tone.

Then without waiting for Mu Yanxiao's response, Mu Lingxi turned on her heels and started to walk away right after saying her piece.

”Wait!”

Mu Yanxiao called her out and tried to stop her cousin.

Mu Lingxi halted her steps but this time though, she did not turn around to face the other party.

Instead, she just stopped on her track and stood there on the same spot without moving. Her back still facing Mu Yanxiao.

”Tsss... What an ungrateful fellow.”

Mu Yanxiao muttered under her breath before continuing.

”I got news about your Brother Gaoyan. Are you sure you don't want to hear it?”

When Mu Lingxi heard that it was all about her Brother Gaoyan, she immediately turned around and walked back to where Mu Yanxiao was left standing.

Knowing that it was now the time for her to play the upper hand, Mu Yanxiao grinned widely.

Her smile was so wide that it almost looked like she was smiling from ear to ear.

If she only knew from the beginning that the only way to get the better of Mu Lingxi was to mention Mu Gaoyan's name, then she must have probably stated it already right from the start.

”Ohh looked who was back?? I thought you don't want to hear it anymore. What was with the sudden change of mind? It was so unlike you, Lady Lingxi.

Mu Yanxiao said with a simpered smile on her face.
