Chapter 262 - DO WE HAVE A PROBLEM (1/2)
Moving deeper into the area, the group realized that the place is empty. Just like what they expected since they will be venturing a newly discovered uncharted territory.
There is simply nothing worth mentioning about the place. Aside from the fact that the place is bathed with the same color of dried blood.
Setting aside that one factor, the place would look exactly just like a typical wasteland. No trees, no plant, nothing!
There is nothing around them aside from the old mansion house that stood conspicuously at the very center.
”I think we should first check out that house.”
Chan Gu said as he looked around the place.
”You're right. Considering that it was the only place where we can go now.”
Fan Lei rebutted with a shrug of his shoulder.
With wide strides, Mu Lingxi and her friends head to the direction where the old mansion was located.
”I hope that the ancient chalice won't trigger something once we take it.”
Long Yue said as they made their way.
Last time, it was he who took the treasure hidden in the land of Echurid. As soon as he took the Scarlet Fire Fruit back then, he accidentally triggers a trap in the land of Echurid.
Resulting in the army of the undead to be unleashed. So this time, he sincerely hopes that history won't repeat itself.
”Let us just hope for the best.”
Mu Lingxi said with a smile as she halted her steps before the door. She turned around and look at her friends who were walking behind her and waited for them.
”Just as how Schoolmaster Yin instructed us, by no means we should allow the ancient chalice to be open later to avoid unnecessary mishap... Okay??”
Yun Xue reiterated as he looked to his group of friends.
”Of course Yun Xue, we already knew about that,”
Long Yue rebutted as he looked at his friend in a teasing manner. It was as if his eyes were saying
'Seriously? You really have to say that to us. Do you take us for a fool?'
Before entering the old mansion, Mu Lingxi first tried to knock three times at the massive wooden double door of the house.
After waiting for a couple of seconds, Long Fuzi was the one who reached out his hand towards the doorknob and slowly turned it.
Mu Lingxia and the others waited at the side with anticipation. They wait for Long Fuzi to finally open the door so they could have a look at the interior of the house.
Long Fuzi, on the other hand, tried twsiting the doorknob for about three times before he relented with an exasperated sigh.
”It's lock..”
”...” Mu Lingxi and the others
Long Fuzi scratched the back of his head as his other hand reach on the inside of his robe to get his wand.
”Alright, I'll gonna use a spell for this one then.”
As he said that, Long Fuzi waved his wand and muttered,
”XEKLEÍDOMA”
As soon as he was done chanting the unlocking spell;, the doorknob turned by itself and right after that, the massive wooden double door open on its own.
To their surprise, the interior of the place is not affected by the same reddish-brown color that dominates the entire Sanguine Tundra.
It does not have any hint of the sanguine ambient light outside and it works to their liking.
After all, it would really put them on edge if they end up getting trapped inside an abandoned old mansion that looks as if it was covered by dried blood.
Although the interior of the place looked shabby, to say the least, it is still way much better than having a creepy place that looked like a murder scene where many has been massacred.
Observing the interior of the mansion, a large old fashioned chandelier hung from the dark wooden beam that ran down the center of the ceiling.
Twelve branches stretched out from the central base, each one's formerly silver color now tarnished with a brown hue.
At the end of each arm was a small space, just the right size for a thin candle to slot into, although only one of the spaces was filled.
The feeble glow of that singular candle did a measly job of lighting the room.
Instead, that faint glow only illuminated the chandelier itself and a small section of the rotting ceiling.
