Chapter 258 - GUARDIANS (1/2)

Looking around them, the group looked for the possible guardian stationed at this exit, but they don't see any.

”Does it work like a fairy ring as well??”

Long Yue asked to no one in particular. Although he and Long Fuzi used to study at Magus Academia a year prior to them,  it was also their first time coming to this place.

After all, there is nothing eventful that happened in their past year. In fact, there is really nothing worth mentioning in their first year at Magus Academia.

It was only at this time after they met with their newfound friends that their life started to turn a lot more exciting and livelier.

”I don't think that is the case. There must be a guardian somewhere. Don't you think its a bit neglectful of the school if they will leave one exit fully unguarded??”

”Indeed. It won't make sense if this exit does not have a guardian as well. Considering that the fairy ring does not have a guardian already. This portal should at least have one.”

Mu Lingxi and the others discussed among themselves. But before they could come up with their deduction, Yun Xue beckoned to them.

”Let's just worry about that later. Why don't we take a look around the place and check what we can find out?”

As he said that, he walked ahead of the group and take closer to the stone formation.

The group knows what they have to do, and that is just exactly what Yun Xue had told them. So they followed their friend's lead without any question.

Yun Xue went straight on observing the massive blue rocks that were built in a circular formation. Mu Lingxi and the others did the same.

Since this megalithic structure is the most prominent figure in the place, then there is a high chance that the portal is somewhere within this stone formation as well.

'Kacha! Kacha!!!'

When the group stepped within the circle created by the stone formation, a violent storm started to brew.

An ominous bank of dark clouds gathered in the area within the circular formation of megalithic structure. Followed by the successive appearance of several bolts of lightning from the sky.

Before Mu Lingxi and her friends could even process what was happening, the ground below them started to rumble furiously as if an intense earthquake had struck the area.

Following this, the massive blue stones rose up from the earth. To their surprise, the stone formation as they thought it was is not exactly a simple megalithic structure.

One by one, the big blue stones started to rose from their feet as if a man waking up from its deep slumber causing a cloak of dust to drift in the area.

The big blue stones do not have any distinctive facial feature but it has both upper and lower extremities just like a man.

These anthropomorphic blue stones have the height of two men combined and it stood towering over the group.

Sensing no hostility coming from the group of anthropomorphic blue stones, the group reckoned that this could very much likely be the guardians of this exit.

Aside from that, after observing the massive blue stones that stood towering before them, the group notice that there is a piece of yellow paper that sticks on each of the head of the anthropomorphic blue stones.

With a bloody red ink, a big word that says 'GUARD' was inscribed on each of this talisman-like paper.

Upon reading what was actually written on the paper, the group can't help but blinked their eyes.

”MEOW”

[Well, at least the guardians of this place knows how to use an ID card. Though it would have been much better if they used a name tag instead to make it personalize.]
