238 THE CURSED CHILD (1/2)

”The apprentice necromancer found the man and the girl he loved together. He managed to kill the man who stole his girl and he intends to bring his girl back to their place. But something that the apprentice necromancer did not imagine is that the girl he loved for many years is now carrying a child of another man in her womb.”

”Ouch! So the apprentice necromancer killed the father of that unborn baby?!!! What did he do to the girl and her baby then???”

Long Yue and the other now hooked to Long Fuzi's report. It no longer looked like a report for their mission, but rather a storytelling session.

”Out of grief from the betrayal that he had suffered, the apprentice necromancer place something like a curse on the unborn child. It was believed that at that time the phenomena regarding the darkening of the clouds and dimming of the sun started.

”Hmmm.. Then he must be the apprentice necromancer that we are looking for. But what happened to the baby?? Did it dies?? How about the mother what did she do after that??”

Even though they have already got the information that they needed, the group was still curious as to what happened to the mother and her child after.

”No, the baby was born and was raised by her paternal family As soon as the mother gave birth to the child, she left it to the influential family and departed in hopes of finding the apprentice necromancer. So she could ask him to lift the curse that was cast upon  her child...”

”Indeed. That was really a tragic story...”

”Yes, it was. But  Long Fuzi, you mentioned that most of the records concerning that incident back then were taken down by the influential family. If that was the case, why do you know so much about them???”

Fan Lei asked Long Fuzi as soon as he finished telling them the story.

”Well, it just so happen that the influential family that I mentioned as well as the royal family used to have close ties. In fact, it was through them that our father, the emperor, got to know the matters about Magus Academia. Because the mother of that cursed child that I have been referring to is also from the same school as ours.”

”Ohh??? So she is another sorceress... I see. So that explains how she got to know that apprentice necromancer. Maybe after the practice of necromancy being vanished, the apprentice necromancer tried to assume another personality as a regular warlock and also studied at Magus Academia. ”

”That is not entirely impossible. Your claim might hold true as well”

”Long Fuzi you said that the royal family has close ties with the family of the party involved. Maybe we can start from there???”

”Well, I doubt they will cooperate with us that much. What I've told you guys is already everything that they have told my father before when he personally asked them. I don't think if we asked them ourselves now, they will give us more information.”

”But your father is the emperor?? The one above anyone else. Who would dare to disobey his orders if he asked for mere information?? What kind of family could make even the emperor of the nation to tread carefully around them??'

”Well, that influential family has complete control over the military forces of this kingdom.”

”Are you referring to the Mu Clan brother???”

”Then won't it be easier for us to acquire information from them??? After all, you will be their soon to be son-in-law. Why would they hide to you?? Your two families will eventually merge after your marriage to Mu Lingxi. So why hesitate??”

Knowing that their friend might have something that he can not discuss to the group yet, they decided not to pursue the matter anymore and abandoned the idea about using the marriage as a bait.

Long Fuzi, of course, can't tell them that his marriage to Mu Lingxi is currently an unresolved issue between the two families.

Due to Mu Lingxi's action of running away with their arranged marriage, it creates a rift between the two families that used to have close ties before.

”If only we have Mu Lingxi here, it will be easier for us to find more truth about the matter..”

Long Fuzi muttered despondently

”Yes, indeed. If she was only here to help us acquire the information from her clan. It will be a lot easier for us..”
