236 MARY AND HER LITTLE LAMB (1/2)
As soon as Mu Lingxi opened the door to her room, an imposing black cat who was currently sitting at her bed greeted her.
”MEOW”
[Where have you been at this time of the night???]
If not because of the black tail that was languidly swishing and flicking behind him, Janus could easily pass off for the character of a granny old man who was scolding his naughty grandchild for going home late at night.
Aside from that, since this cat of hers is not something ordinary, it can also sit with its hind legs and cross two of his arms across his chess.
So imagine how imposing Janus was right now, while he was acting like a grown-up man. He was even playing with his whiskers as he eyes his master questioningly.
”I just had a casual stroll outside and had lost track of time. Why is there anything that happened here while I was away???”
”MEOW”
[None, at all. I just did not expect that you won't be here to welcome me when I arrived.]
”Welcome you???”
”MEOW”
[Yes! Welcome me... If you only knew where I have been and what I have done for you.]
”Where have you been, anyway. Have you met your friend? What is her name again?? Mary?? Is that her??”
”MEOW”
[Mary?? Who is mary??? I don't know her?! I only have one girl in my life, and that is Luna.]
”But you told me you are going to meet Mary and her little lamb???”
”MEOW”
[Ohh, yeah.. about that. Come, check this out.]
As he said that, Janus opened the bag sitting next to him and pour its entire contents on the floor.
'KACHING! KACHING! KACHING!'
As soon as Janus tipped the bag, the sound of rolling coins resounded inside the room.
The pile of gold coins that continued to pour out from Janus bag as if it has no limit almost blinded Mu Lingxi.
The irises of her eyes almost turned into a dollar shape as she stared at the rolling gold coins before her with her mouth agape
Mu Lingxi watched as more and more gold coins come out of that small bag in Janus' paws.
Her lower jaw nearly fell to the ground from shock. As she widened her mouth so wide that it almost seemed as if she was a fish that had fallen on the shore.
It took quite some time before she managed to recover from her daze. She looked at the cute little black cat in front of her with a look that was even more shocked than she would have been if she had seen a ghost instead.
'KACHIN! KACHING KACHING!'
