49 SPENDING THE NIGHT IN A TAVERN (1/2)
When they entered the tavern, the room was brimming with people of all ages. They found an empty table just beside the window and decided to sit there.
From where they sat, they can see the occasional passing of carriages while the rain was falling on their windowpane.
”MEOW”
[I better address this grumbling stomach of mine or else my small intestine will soon eat my large intestine... ]
Janus said with eyes full of expectancy as he tried to crane his head from left to right.
They wonder, why there is no one assisting them to take their order?
”Ohhh... I'm hungry,” Mu Lingxi rested her arms on the table as she put her chin over her left hand.
But as soon as she said those two words of complain, dish after dish started to appear just before their eyes. Soon, their table was full of mouth-watering delicacies.
It was like there is a sumptuous feast at their front. Foods of all kinds can be seen in their table.
There is this that looks like a giant lobster and then scallops and grilled squid. Then a piping hot pot with a thick soup inside. Even the smoked ham looks so delectable. Its juices were oozing from it and once you took a bite, a sweet and spicy taste will burst inside your mouth.
She remembered that time when she uses to attend a friend's wedding before. The reception was held at a five-star hotel, and the foods served there tasted just like the one being served here on the humble-looking tavern.
She remembered pretty well how it tasted because she managed to take home some of the foods as a souvenir back then.
The master and cat duo continued to dig in and ate to their heart's content.
”MEOW”
[Woahhhh... This place was true to its word?!!! A real 'eat-all-you-can' through and through!]
Janus said in amazement as he watches the plate of the colorful jellies he just emptied being refilled on its own.
”Ahhhhh... this is what you called happy tummy!!!”
Mu Lingxi said in contentment while wiping the corner of her mouth after drinking a cup of BUTTERED BEER, bottoms up.
