Janus sure knows how to make things light. Cause after he said that, Mu Lingxi's facial reaction did an abrupt change.

From a sobbing, teary eye girl she became a glaring tiger waiting to pounce on her prey in any second.

Then a small bulging skin swells on Janus' head. As if the head of a small mole rat was trying to peak from below.

”MEOW”

[Ouch!!!! You fickle headed human!!!!! Are all female species that erratic????!!!]

Janus said as he tried to touch the bump on the top of his head using his paws. But his face shows a hint of a smile, in his mind, he thinks the opposite.

”MEOW”

[It's good that this little lass has a strong heart. Phew! I am being heroic for sacrificing myself to be her punching buddy.]

”Who are you calling erratic??!”

”MEOW”

[Who else but you???? Bleh! Women sure are direct descendants of berserk warriors!]

He continued to hurl taunting remarks to Mu Lingxi to coax her into forgetting her loneliness. This is what he was good at, teasing Mu Lingxi. This is what he uses to comfort her way back on their previous lives.

”You insolent cat! Let me wash that mouth of yours! And you sure need a good beating, come over here and receive your punishment!”

Janus said in a playful tone as he sticks his tongue out.

”JANUUUUUUUUUUUSsssss!”

Mu Lingxi exclaimed as she got to her feet, preparing to chase after her cat. Behind those seemingly pissed off face, hides her grateful heart.

”Thank you, my friend,” she thought as she runs after her cat.

They play around, running all over the dilapidated courtyard. Mu Lingxi's laughter echoed at the entire place.

The initial gloomy courtyard became lively as laughter filled the place, and it continued like that.
