”Stop right there!!!” Mu Lingxi ran towards her little black cat Janus. She can't explain how furious she felt when she saw her cat being bullied like that before her eyes.

Just a while ago, she felt a sudden burst of emotion coming from the link between her and her cat Janus. Using the mental link that she shared with Janus, she tried to track her cat. Who knows that right after finding where he was, she will witness someone bullying Janus.

On the contrary, when Long Yue heard that voice, his heart started to beat so fast. Then his eyes unknowingly focused on the most beautiful lady he could ever remember seeing in his life.

Her long brown wavy hair framed her small face. Her luscious cherry lips were set in a straight line showing a livid expression. Yet even her face was as dark as the stormy night, it does not make her even less attractive.

For the first time in his life, he felt lost. He just stared back at the lady standing protectively before the black cat.

”Release my cat.” Mu Lingxi said neither rude nor servile.

But the guy just stared back at her like a fool. When Long Yue noticed that the girl opposite him started to feel conscious due to his intense staring, he felt ashamed.

”Ehem...” he cleared his throat as he tried to straighten his back showing his full height. Mu Lingxi was just around his chest level.

”Sorry my Lady, but I can't just let go that cat easily.” Mu Lingxi's body tensed up a little bit.

”That cat of yours tried to hurt my dear cat. If I were just a second late maybe that wild cat of yours already harm my poor Luna,” he said with much conviction.

Mu Lingxi on the other hand look at his black cat unsure what to do. This black cat seems unreliable most of the time and always loves teasing her. But she never saw Janus as a wild cat just like how this gentleman describes him to be.

”MEOW!”

[That's not true! Little lass, that guy was a fool! The most stupid and the dumbest one! How dare you have the face to act upright?! You don't know anything. Luna and I are in good terms. IT'S LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT!!!!] Janus kept on shouting at the top of his lungs for this unfair treatment. If his bared pangs would just allow him, he might be gnashing his teeth as well.

”Cut it off, he can't hear you anyways.”

Mu Lingxi saw how furious Janus became that even his choice of words become crude.

”I think I might need to wash your mouth with soap later, it's getting dirty” she side commented on his cat's attitude. But what makes Lingxi more stupefied was her cat's last statement.

”Love at first sight?!!! Love, at first sight, your face. You even got the nerves to settle your love affair before I even got mine?! This cat certainly needs some counseling later” Mu Lingxi decided right away.

Nevertheless, she still felt that the gentleman across her was being unreasonable. Why did he have to use some trick just to trap her poor cat? And to think that this was just a misunderstanding on his part. She won't forgive him that easy either.

”Release him right now! This is just misunderstanding” Lingxi repeated with more authority.

This is the first time that someone talks to him like that. Long Yue was amazed by Mu Lingxi's boldness. Something that most of the ladies were lacking nowadays. He feels another force tug his heartstring, but his pride as a prince did not allow him to bow down to Mu Lingxi's domineering attitude.

”Not unless you said 'please big brother'” he replied as he smiled at Mu Lingxi as if trying to tease her. He knows pretty well that he had the upper hand in this situation. After all her cat was at his mercy.
