Chapter 19: never was (1/2)
Xu Chengyan stood outside the ward and thought about it a lot. In the end, he didn't go in to disturb him. He just sat on the rest chair beside him and waited slowly.
On the other side, Jiang Lin hesitated for a while, but did not go in, but accompanied Xu Chengyan outside.
Xu Chengyan sat quietly, looking at the white wall on the opposite side in a trance.
Jiang Lin looked at the people beside him, but secretly took out his mobile phone and sent a message to He Yang as a reminder.
Before long, the ward door opened from the inside.
He Yang came out, closed the door, and looked at the two people on the lounge chair next to him.
”Sir.” Xu Chengyan got up and asked softly, ”Shen Xiuzhu... Is he feeling better?”
”Yeah.” He Yang replied coldly.
Xu Chengyan looked at the ward and explained, ”Auntie changed the menu temporarily. I didn't notice the seafood, I didn't know he would be allergic...”
”Can I go in and see him?” Xu Chengyan asked.
He Yang didn't speak, just opened the door and let Xu Chengyan in.
The young master was sitting on the edge of the bed, holding a thermos cup and slowly drinking hot water.
Seeing that someone came in, the young master looked up with a gentle smile on his face.
The young master's face is still pale and weak, the thin-rimmed glasses have been taken off, and the facial features on his face look softer.
Xu Chengyan walked over step by step, came to the bed, and whispered, ”Sorry...”
”There was a problem in the kitchen this time, it was my mistake, I didn't know there would be seafood...” Xu Chengyan took the initiative to apologize.
”It's okay.” The young master smiled, as if he didn't care much, ”It's okay anyway.”
He Yang next to him listened, frowned in disapproval, and said to Xu Chengyan, ”Next time we have a dinner together, ask Auntie to send me a copy of the ingredients.”
Xu Chengyan froze, a syllable uttered in his throat with some difficulty: ”Okay.”
He Yang came to the hospital bed again, and covered the quilt on the young master a little bit tightly, and then he looked back at Xu Chengyan, ready to say something.
It was also at this time that He Yang noticed that Xu Chengyan's left hand was still wrapped in a bandage.
He Yang asked, ”What happened to your hand?”
Xu Chengyan subconsciously looked down at his left hand, and said lightly, ”I was accidentally cut before.”
He Yang glanced at it, then withdrew his gaze and said nothing.
Xu Chengyan and Jiang Lin stayed in the ward for a while before leaving.
The young master needed a rest, so He Yang stayed in the ward to accompany him and did not go back with Xu Chengyan.
Jiang Lin sent Xu Chengyan back to the apartment. Still worried about Xu Chengyan's state, he said, ”sister-in-law, are you alright?”
”It's okay.” Xu Chengyan cheered up and stopped thinking about it.
It was already late at night, Xu Chengyan went to bed after taking a bath and lay down alone.
No lights were turned on in the bedroom, the curtains were drawn, and the room was dark.
Ke Xu Chengyan just kept his eyes open, staring at the pitch-black picture.
Unconsciously, Xu Chengyan fell asleep until noon the next day when he was awakened by the sound of rain outside.
The house was still deserted, and the husband didn't come back all night.
Xu Chengyan sat up from the bed in a daze, and found that his head was a little dizzy, and his body had no strength, as if he had caught a cold again.
Xu Chengyan touched his forehead, and after taking out the cold medicine from the drawer, he lay on the bed again and fell asleep.
But when Xu Chengyan was half asleep, he felt someone approaching beside him, and a big warm hand fell on his face and rubbed lightly.
