Early the next morning, Jiang Feng and Professor Li got on the plane to Beiping.

Jiang Feng knew almost nothing about the procedures of real estate transfer. He didn't quite understand what he had found on the Internet the night before either. Professor Li was very considerate and had hired a lawyer for him. After getting off the plane, he brought him to sign the procedure papers.

The lawyer had looked through the documents. There was no problem with them. There was almost no difference between half selling and half gifting it. After two days of busy work, Jiang Feng signed the agreement under the witness of both side's lawyers and the notary office.

Jiang Feng had mixed feelings about IOU worth 300 million dollars in his hand.

The repayment period wasn't stipulated in the contract, nor were there any specific requirements for repayment, not a word regarding the interest was mentioned as well.

And in recent days, Jiang Feng had also come to realize that Professor Li might not want him to pay back the money. It seemed he really didn't care about such a small amount of money, but the debt still needed to be paid, despite the fact that Professor Li had lowered the amount by so much.

There were many rumors about Professor Li in A University. It was rumored that he was the descendant of a Beiping noble, the only son that had inherited generations of the family fortune. His family had several houses in the capital, and even a bungalow as well.

These were all true.

Li Mingyi's grandfather was Han Lin, and his great grandfather was a senior official. His father had studied in private schools and learned the eight-part essay when he was young, he was even admitted to the imperial court. Later, the imperial court had been closed, and he had received a new western education. He went abroad to study, and when he came back, he set up factories and did charity work. He was also a famous person at that time. Even though Li Mingyi himself had gone to university in China, he took refuge abroad and studied there as well during the war against Japan. Even Jiang Huiqin had recieved a bachelor's degree in finance abroad.

After the reforms, the government returned the Li family's property to them. Of course, it was impossible to return the factories to them. The real estate however, had all been returned to them. The antiques in the houses were nowhere to be found, so compensations had been added as well, it was a huge sum of money for ordinary people. Professor Li told Jiang Feng that they originally had six bungalows in their family, but later they had been torn down by the government, in turn they were given dozens of houses as compensation, they had rented all of them out.

Wasn't this family connection that their family had claimed a little too distinguished.

Professor Li brought Jiang Feng to Taifeng Restaurant.

The location around Taifeng Restaurant had been completely transformed into a commercial area, surrounded by large shopping malls, only Taifeng Restaurant was standing amongst its surroundings as an ancient styled restaurant. Through the years, there were real estate developers who had been interested in this lot of land as well, but Professor Li and his family were not lacking in money. They had wanted to preserve Taifeng Restaurant as a memento for Li Mingyi. Now that they had transferred it to Jiang Feng. The Li couple felt that it had been returned to its rightful owner, and considered letting it serve its proper purpose.

The moment Jiang Feng's eyes landed on Taifeng Restaurant, he felt that it was a bit out of place compared with the surrounding buildings.

It was not because of the contrast to the modern buildings, but that Taifeng Restaurant was really too old. Jiang Feng also saw two girls who were obviously tourists taking photos of Taifeng Restaurant from afar, they acted as if they were taking pictures of buildings in a scenic area.

Professor Li's entire family had settled in A City. Although they had hired a special crew to take care of the building regularly, the crew wasn't very meticulous because they didn't come to Beiping often. After all these years under the wind and sun, the entire building of the restaurant was aging severely. If they didn't renovate it, it was certainly not possible to open the restaurant like this.

”Professor, if we were to completely renovate Taifeng Restaurant...” Asked Jiang Feng.

”I have an engineering team I know, but if we were to do that, it will cost at least a few million dollars.” Professor Li said.

Let alone millions, Jiang Feng couldn't even fork out hundreds, the Jiang family was now in a debt of 300 million!

Before leaving, Old Master Jiang had made it clear to Jiang Feng that since Li Mingyi had entrusted Taifeng Restaurant to Jiang Feng, he should bear the responsibility. The elders could help with everything in regards to Taifeng Restaurant, except that they would not fork out money.
