23 Secrets from the Pas (1/2)

Adam had been a part of the Hope federation as a kid. When he saw that the people he believed in crush the hopes of their nation he had felt unparalleled hatred. Especially towards his parents, big-time politicians who just couldn't wait to get their hands dirty and exploit everything they could.

He felt extremely disgusted. He often questioned himself why people had to each other. He had decided as a child that he would change the twisted world for the better.

Where everyone hurt each other, he would rather burn himself than hurt someone else. He would be the bright light that would guide everyone to the right path. He would put an end to all misery in the world.

When the Anarchists had first risen, Adam had been their biggest fan. He felt that he had finally found others who thought like him. Hearing that their leader Lucas was someone his age ignited an even stronger passion in him to burn all his potential to be the spark of change. He used to look up to them...until they decided that human lives were as cheap as the people they were trying to stop.

Adam had never felt as heartbroken as he was back then, the worst part was that deep within a voice agreed with them. It said that some things were unavoidable, and some sacrifices had to be ma

Those he believed to be his heroes turned out to be villains instead.

Heroes never came, they are within you. He didn't need someone to be his hero. He would be the hero he wanted, and the one that the world needed.

Lilith looked into the distance as she went over the events of the past few months. It all started with the disappearance of her older brother Lucifer the 5th 6 months ago, before the war even began.

He was the support and the successor of the nation, the successor of the demon lord. He was however never known for his fighting powers, he was known for his inventions and discoveries in magic technology. When he had disappeared he had been researching inter-dimensional technology and had been trying to rupture holes into space-time.

What they knew was that he had either died or succeeded.

However, she knew her brother the best that idiot would never want to come back if managed to escape this world. He knew how much that doofus hated killing and war. Quite a failure of a demon. At least he never let his enemies find that part of him.

She turned around and looked at the young man in front of her.

When they had discovered another hole and fed the algorithm to look for the next demon lord, they had been hoping to find Lucifer, instead, they found this man.

Lucas Nothstein.

The man was an enigma that wore many masks, sometimes a naive child, sometimes a lunatic rebel, at times a reigning monarch of the night and at others a handsome gentleman.

What was his true self, what was his true goals, from what she did know, he could lead the demons as a capable demon lord, what she still wasn't sure was whether he was worth the risk. Whether he could be trusted to become the next demon lord without making the mistakes os his predecessors.

The man had been staring at her for a while. he decided to break the silence.

”I have decided that I would not become the next Demon Lord.”

”Why?” Lilith asked back expressionlessly.

”Let me tell you a story about a little boy”

”The little boy always used to believe that heroes would come and save his world.”

”He slowly lost everything important to him, but he kept on believing in them”

”However, heroes never come.”

”So, he decided to be one himself. He had felt powerless so he decided to become powerful enough to control his fate.”
