Chapter 3 (1/2)
<legend of=”” legend(lol)-interview=”” day(2)=””>
Lee-joonhyuk would be able to go through the bus window he broke, but it was impossible for the elders.
Lee-joonhyuk swung his hammer and he dug out the gla.s.s from the window frame.
“I’ll hold onto you, so come over here one by one.”
The grandfather, who had tied Lee-joonhyuk’s leg, stepped forward first. The sack had held a small urn, and he put it to the side. Then he went over the window frame.
Lee-joonhyuk grabbed his hand, and he helped him outside. This was when he saw a familiar face. It was the rough looking man, who wouldn’t move his car. He spoke as he held onto the grandpa’s leg.
“I’ll catch him, so hurry up.”
“Thank you.”
As soon as the man received the grandpa, he hurried to pa.s.s over the other people. After pa.s.sing 4 people, the last grandma left hesitated.
“Eh-goo. This looks hard.”
“I’ll grab onto you.”
“Still.”
Lee-joonhyuk looked at the narcoleptic patient’s car, which had fallen in through the roof. The vehicle’s bonnet was completely crushed, and he spoke as he looked at it.
“If we aren’t careful, it might explode.”
As soon as the grandma tried to stall, Lee-joonhyuk hurriedly approached the grandma, and he lifted her up. Blood was soaking through the sack tied to his left shredded s.h.i.+n, but he didn’t have time to worry about it.
Lee-joonhyuk pa.s.sed the grandma through the window. The rough looking man outside spoke as he received the grandma.
“The gas is leaking. Hurry up and come out.”
“Please wait.”
Lee-joonhyuk approached the fallen vehicle. The person, who went into a narcoleptic sleep, was comfortably sitting in his driver seat even though his car had been totaled.
First, he had to lead the others to safety.
“Young man. The front door isn’t opening.”
“That’s what I thought, so I brought a hammer.”
Lee–joonhyuk smiled, and he hurriedly approached the window to break it. After he sc.r.a.ped the remaining gla.s.s off of the window frame, he realized he had left his dress jacket in the back.
“s.h.i.+t.”
As he tried to hurriedly head back, his jumper was caught from the window. When he turned back, the rough looking man was smiling.
“Hurry up and get them off.”
Lee-joonhyuk quickly helped down the rest of the people left inside the bus. The only ones left was Lee-joonhyuk and the bus driver. Also, there was the person with the abnormal sleeping disorder, who had flown in through the roof inside his car.
Lee-joonhyuk decided to rescued the bus driver first. He tried to release the seat-belt, but it seemed to be broken.
“So many things are going wrong.”
He hit the seat belt with the hammer a couple times, and it became undone. Lee-joonhyuk quickly pulled the bus driver towards him. The unconscious bus driver’s body was really heavy.
Lee-joonhyuk clenched his teeth, and he put his strength into his arm. He was barely able to drag the bus driver to the window. When he reached the window, he leaned against it then he took a deep breath.
The sack around his s.h.i.+n couldn’t staunch the blood flow anymore. Lee-joonhyuk with all his strength slung the bus driver on the window frame, then he spoke.
“He is an abnormal sleep disorder patient.” (TLN: I’ll shorten it to ASD patient)
“So I almost died because of this guy?”
His words were harsh, but the man’s hands continued to help. Lee-joonhyuk pa.s.sed over the bus driver, then he looked back. The only one left was the ASD patient, who was riding the car that flew in.
The car was crushed in half. Would he be able to rescue him?
“Hey. You get off too!”
The man outside shouted at him, but Lee-joonhyuk spoke one more time.
“I’m just going to check if it is possible to bring him down.”
Lee-joonhyuk approached the car, but he couldn’t open the crushed door. He agonized over it for a moment, then he looked towards the half broken front window. He rammed his shoulder into the window.
Ggeeee-geeeee-geek.
When he rammed into the window, the vehicle slid down more. If he wasn’t careful, he would be crushed. After he regained his breath for a moment, he pulled against the hanging window.
At that moment, he felt his eyes water. He hadn’t felt it up until now, but his side started to throb. He must have a broken rib.
“Are you some kind of rescue worker?”
Suddenly, he heard a voice next to him. He turned his head, and he saw the rough looking man.
“I’m not.”
“I thought you were some rescue worker trying to be some kind of hero. Move over.”
The man ripped the half hanging window in one try. Then he released the seat-belt of the driver inside the car.
“Hey. I’m going to pull him out. Do you think the car will fall more?”
“I’ll try to brace against it.”
“f.u.c.k that. Is the car not going to fall, because you are bracing against it? Do you know how heavy a car is?”
“Still, I have to try it.”
Lee-joonhyuk grabbed the roof of the car with his hands, and he put his shoulder against it. As the other man saw this, he shook his head from side to side, then he started to carefully extract the driver.
Ggee-geeek.
As the patient inside was moved, the vehicle started to make louder noises. The man, who froze for a second, used all his might to pluck the driver out.
Lee-joonhyuk suddenly felt the weight transfer onto his shoulder, so he put his strength into it.
Lee-joonhyuk was thankful everything went well, and he relaxed. As he was watching them, all of the weight suddenly transferred on him. His shoulders seemed like it would be severed. He couldn’t take the pain, so Lee-joonhyuk jumped backwards.
Kwa-doo-doo-dook.
If he was a little bit late, Lee-joonhyuk would have been crushed by the falling vehicle. He let out a sigh of relief, then he heard the man scream.
“Hey! You said the gas is leaking. Get off first!”
“Yes.”
Lee-joonhyuk approached the window he broke. He picked up an urn he saw on the side, and Lee-joonhyuk jumped over the window.
As the impact from landing on the floor transferred to his leg, his face crumpled. Lee-joonhyuk pulled his dress jacket to himself, and he started limping away.
When he turned his head, the rough looking man was leaving the front of the bus with the ASD patient in tow.
Lee-joonhyuk walked towards them to help. As soon as the ASD patient was dragged off, an explosion went off from the back.
Boom!
The vehicle, which had flown and embedded itself on the bus, exploded and the surrounding windows exploded. Lee-joonhyuk fell to the floor after being swept up in the aftershock. Lee-joonhyuk watched the bus start to burn alongside the car. He let out a sigh of relief. He realized how traumatic the events he got himself into was, and as soon as he realized that, his ribs started to hurt. On top of that, his s.h.i.+n throbbed.
Lee-joonhyuk saw a grandpa approach him. It was the grandpa, who had wrapped his wound. Lee-joonhyuk gave him the urn he was able to save.
“I was able to save this.”
“Thank you.”
As the grandpa received it, his surrounding was filled with claps. When he turned his head around, Lee-joonhyuk was able to see stalled cars, and many people were surrounding them.
The people were busy taking pictures. Lee-joonhyuk stood up, while making a pained noise.
The rough looking man asked Lee-joonhyuk a question.
