At night, the moon was bright and the stars were thin. Clear moonlight scattered down like mercury, causing the entire forest to sink into a gentle silence.

A bonfire rose up from the forest as the energy spread outwards. It was as if the moonlight was infected by a layer of warmth.

After a day of observation and probing, the participants of the Immortal Yang Spiritual Academy were certain of one fact. That was, the spirit beast horde had no intention of provoking them. Thus, the crowd gradually relaxed.

The dozen or so disciples of the Vastheaven Realm had already set up a bonfire by themselves. Surrounding them, their gazes were fixated on the youth sitting in the center with his eyes closed. The atmosphere was quite depressing.

”Phew …”

Finally, the youth let out a long breath and withdrew from his meditation. Under the illumination of the fire, his face still had a trace of sickly white color.

”Brother Yun, how are you? Are you feeling better?”

A voice filled with worry rang out beside the youth. The one who spoke was the little genius of the Vastheaven Realm, Cang Ling.

”It's fine. It's much better now.” Cang Yun opened his eyes and saw more than ten pairs of worried eyes staring at him. He smiled faintly, and a warm feeling rose from within his heart.

Rubbing his slightly dizzy head, Cang Yun looked at Cang Yue and said softly, ”You didn't reveal what happened, right?”

”Nope.” Cang Yue shook her head, and at the same time, furrowed her brows. She was very suspicious as to why Cang Yun had told her not to reveal this matter.

Cang Yun nodded his head and also saw the doubt in the young girl beside him. He said, ”I told you not to reveal it because I'm afraid that some people will seek their own deaths. That thing is not something we can deal with.”

”Just what is this thing? Are so many of us here unable to deal with it?” From Cang Yun's expression, she could actually see a trace of fear, which was simply hard for her to believe.

She understood Cang Yun. Even when his blood source had been destroyed and he had faced despair, he had never displayed such an expression.

”I know the specifics as well, but I am certain that with our current strength, we absolutely don't have the qualifications to provoke it.” Cang Yun shook his head. He had personally experienced it before, so he knew how terrifying it was. In that situation, he did not even have the slightest bit of resistance, and if not for Cang Yue, he had no doubt that he would have lost his consciousness long ago.

Cang Yun also had a terrifying thought, and that was that the reason why he was able to escape this calamity was because the unknown creature disdained killing him. It was as if an elephant was facing an ant, and the reason why it attacked him was only to give him a warning.

”If it's that terrifying, then aren't we in danger?” Cang Ling shrunk back. With his admiration for Cang Yun, he did not doubt the seriousness of the latter's words.

Just how scary was something that even Brother Yun was afraid of? Unconsciously, a sense of reverence arose in Cang Ling's heart.

”That won't be the case. In my opinion, that unknown creature shouldn't be interested in attacking us. Otherwise, we wouldn't be sitting here safely.”

”However, what is its purpose in gathering so many spirit beasts?” Cang Yun revealed a look of worry as he slowly said.

”Did it gather all those spirit beasts? There was a seventh grade spirit beast inside! And it's not just one! ” Cang Ling sucked in a breath of cold air. Finally, he had a clear understanding of the fear that Cang Yun was talking about.

”It's pretty close.” Cang Yun nodded. If it weren't for this explanation, he wouldn't believe that these spirit beasts would come here to gather after eating their fill.

”Then what should we do, leave or stay?” Cang Yue frowned and asked.

”Let's stay here for now and take a look at the situation. But we have to be extra careful.” Cang Yun replied. His intuition told him that something big was about to happen, but he didn't know if it was good or bad, but he wanted to know what was going on.

Cang Yun already had a guess in his heart, but whether it was correct or not, he would have to wait until the situation developed before he could verify it. That was why he chose to stay.

Time flowed, and the night gradually deepened. In the blink of an eye, it was already late at night.

The full moon was like a disk hanging in the sky. A gloomy and cold aura accompanied the moonlight, silently spreading through the forest.
