Part 23 (1/2)
”We'll sit right here.” Brittan shouts back at us over her shoulder. She opens her chair before walking over to me to take Harmony so I can set up my chair.
”Come here baby girl. You wanna go get a yummy popsicle?” Brittan asks fluttering kisses on Harmony's cheek.
Turning to me, she drapes her arm over my shoulder and leans up on her tippy toes to give me a short, delicious kiss. Still, after all these years, her kisses do crazy things to my body.
”I'll be right back.” Her words come out breathless as she flutters her long black lashes up at me.
Slapping her on the a.s.s as she starts to walk away, I wink at her, ”Hurry up before you miss the fireworks.”
Brittan and Roxie return with two sticky babies that are wearing more of their rocket pop than they're eating, but look to be really enjoying them.
Like usual, Brittan brings a chair but never uses it. She ends up plopping down onto my lap with Harmony sitting in her chair beside us munching on her popsicle.
”Who's ready for sparklers?” Matt asks as he pulls out a box of them. His bag is full of sparklers and other fun Fourth of July s.h.i.+t.
”We are!” Brittan and Roxie shout in unison. Handing them out, he gives us each one and fishes a lighter out of his pocket to light them with.
Hugging Brittan tightly against my chest, I nibble on her ear making her giggle and wiggle around on my lap causing my d.i.c.k get hard.
It's going to be a long few hours. I, for one, am ready to see these fireworks and get my girl back to our bedroom to create some fireworks of our own.
”Love ya, Britt.” I whisper in her ear as I run my fingers gently down her arm.
I relish in the feeling of her shuddering in my arms as my mouth and breath tickle her neck. I imagine making that sweet p.u.s.s.y of hers ache to feel my lips and fingers on it.
”Love you too, baby. Happy Fourth of July.” She murmurs against my lips as she kisses me before pulling away and beaming down at our little sticky princess. ”And Happy Birthday to you baby girl!” She says in her adorable high pitched 'baby' voice, as I like to call it, because she only talks like that around Harmony and Rylan.
”I can't believe she is one already! It's so sad!” Roxie says pouting as Matt lights her sparkler.
It is going by too fast. I feel like Brittan was just telling me we were going to have a baby, and now we just had her first birthday celebration.
I am going to keep working on her; hopefully I can convince her to try for a boy after we both finish our next tours. We need a little rocker bad boy to break hearts in daycare and beat up anyone who tries to ask Harmony out. So we need them close in age. I will wear her down in due time.
After all of our sparklers are lit, we hold them in the air, swirling them around. We've made this a tradition we're carrying on. It first started here the summer Brittan turned 16, and one year after her and Cane got together. I'm honored to be able to experience this with them every year.
We spot Dalton, his wife and two kids heading towards us with their chairs. ”Hope we're not too late. The traffic is a freaking nightmare right now.” Dalton says setting his chair down beside Matt. Everyone grabs a sparkler and Matt quickly gets to work lighting them before all of ours burn out.
Holding them in the air and swirling them around, watching the glowing lights form bright sparkling circles we all say in unison, ”Happy Fourth Of July Cane!”
After burning a few more sparklers, the fireworks finally begin. Brittan picked Harmony up to hold her on her lap, then lies back against my chest and stares up at the sky, watching the fireworks explode.
We spend the next half hour sitting like this before it's time for the finale. I love watching the awe in Harmony's eyes as she watches the bright colors sparkling across the night sky. Brittan's face takes my breath away as I watch her smile up at the sky with her face glowing in colors of pink, blues, red, and greens.
It was a long and hard road to get to where we are today, but I wouldn't change a thing. In the end, us two crazy Rock Stars got our happily ever after.
I'm going to spend forever loving this beautiful wild rock chick who stole my heart one night four years ago on a dance floor.
Acknowledgements.
First and foremost I need to thank my fans! Especially my street team, Kayden's Angels. Without your support, I wouldn't be living my dream right now. It still feels surreal to think I'm an author! And not just an author, but because of your undying support, I hit Amazon Bestselling Author twice.
My Angel's spend all day every day pimping me out and helping get the word out to new readers, and I cannot say enough how much I appreciate every single one of you. You've slowly become great friends, not just fans. I appreciate everything you do!
I need to give a big thank you to my family. My husband for supporting this dream and doing everything from housework, to cooking, traveling with me to signings and patiently waiting every night for me to finally make it to bed after a long day of writing.
My girls, Madison and Bailey for being such big helpers! They've been a blessing helping keep their little brother Finn occupied and not complaining when I say we're ordering pizza again tonight.
A special thank you to Sonja who helped me make this story as accurate as possible. Her loss inspired this story and I wanted to make sure it was as accurate as I could make it so if anyone reads this book and has lost a loved one overseas they can read it and be proud that I made the story as real and heartfelt as possible.
I need to thank my mother-in-law, Sh.e.l.ley for all her support. Without her, I'd be dragging my kids all over to author events. I don't know what we'd do without her! Also, the funeral scene with the rain was inspired by her and my grandmother-in-law Yvonne. When we buried my husband's brother, it rained so hard during the funeral, and the words that Roxie said to Brittan are almost exactly the words that Yvonne spoke to my mother in law that day.
I think this is why my beta readers, Amanda, Sonja, Paige & Kimmy from Fictional Men's room for book ho's, Stephanie, Amy, Ericka, Charlie, Brandy, Kristina, Nicola from Endless Reading, Dionne, and Brittany all felt every emotion in this book because I tried to think back to major moments in my life like Mikie's funeral, and my grandfather's funeral which was a military one and I really did stay strong through the whole thing not shedding a tear until Taps began to play and the riffles were fired. I also tried to imagine what it would be like to be that girl getting the heartbreaking news no one wants to ever receive and imagine what I'd feel if I was her.
All the feedback and freak out messages from my betas helped keep me focused and determined to deliver the most amazing novel I could write. I truly appreciated all their feedback and their love for this story.
Lastly I want to thank Natasha. She runs Scandalous Book Blog and has been brain storming with me about this book since last spring. She kept telling me, if you do this right, it'll be amazing! I'm glad in the end I waited to write it after I finished the Savannah Series because I was able to focus on Brittan and pour my heart and soul into this book.
I just want to say THANK YOU! To every single one of you who support me and purchased this book! You will never know how appreciative I am for the support I receive from every single one of you.
If you can please rate and review this novel on Goodreads and the site you purchase from to help share Brittan's story with the reader world, I would truly appreciaite it.

Irresistible Desire.
”Love is an irresistible desire.
to be irresistibly desired”
- Robert Frost.
Chapter One.
After a full week of working, the last thing I want to do is kick off my weekend by attending dinner with my parents. I would rather walk over burning coals than have to sit through another two hour dinner with my mother and father.
The only thing making it bearable is Logan, my boyfriend of four years. Since my parents returned from touring, they insist we get together every Friday for dinner. I admit I miss them while they're away, and I do love catching up from time-to-time, but every week is a bit ridiculous.
I'm in serious need of some fun; 'fun with a capital F', as they say. My plan is to rush through dinner, and meet up with Brooklyn to go and let loose. Brooklyn's my best friend and partner in crime. We've known each other our entire lives, and it seems we've become more like sisters than friends.
