Suddenly, Ren thought about something that was troubling his mind for sometime. He quickly opened his mouth and asked.

”Is it true that Xiao Rin would play the character of Miao Ying?”

It was something that he had heard from both White bear and Director Chen Pu, but Ren wanted to confirm it with CEO Xu.

”Yes, it's true!”

”I thought she was busy in other projects.”

CEO Xu nodded her head hearing that and replied tersely.

”She has a lot of work, but Xiao Rin insisted on the role, so we were not able to do anything. Why are you asking though?”

Ren scratched his cheek and replied.

”Well, it would be easier to practice if she was the one playing Miao Ying. Moreover, I was worried that she is overworking herself.”

”You don't need to worry about that. Xiao Rin knows how to handle herself.”

He nodded his head hearing that and the talk continued for a while. It was all about the special episode and his mini album.

CEO Xu didn't mention Hollywood or the contract again.

Maybe, it was because she didn't wanted to pressure Ren, or it was just something else, but the talk after that was smooth sailing.

As the CEO, she had many things to talk with Ren and Ren also replied carefully. Like that, the talk finally ended.

”I won't take more of your time. Your flight must be tiring, so you should go and rest now. Tell me your answer after thinking about it carefully. I would be waiting for that.”

”I will excuse myself then.”

Ren got up from his seat and started walking towards the door after that.

His mind was in a distraught and there were many thoughts going in it. Was CEO Xu observing him all along? How much she knows? What should he do about her offer?

'There's just too much to comprehend...'

Ren wanted to frown because of this, but as he was about to open the door, CEO Xu's voice again sounded out.

”I can expect good results from «Slayers», right?”

He didn't turn around, but he could imagine her lips curving up in a grin and her eyes looking like a snake. Ren replied after a bit of pause.

”... Yeah, I won't disappoint your expectations.”

”Good.”

Ren left the office after that.

I'm really sorry for the lack of releases this month. I was absent the whole month and I know it's troubling to all you readers, but I was just going through a writers block and after that, I got fever which was fortunately not corona.
