Chapter 245. Somethings can't be changed

Amidst the thunderous applause, Xiao Yunhai walked up to the stage. His demeanour was elegant and there was a constant smile on his face.

His smile was the brightest ever.

It was the first time he had won the Golden dragon movie award and it was for the best actor too.

There was no way he won't be proud of himself.

”Thank you. Thank you for the applause.”

Xiao Yunhai said as he came up on the stage. He took the award from the presenter and addressed the people sitting below the stage.

The applauds died down but there were still some people cheering.

Xiao Yunhai looked at the award in his hand and then, he started his speech.

”First of all, I would like to thank the jury for thinking that I deserved to be the best actor this year. Then, I would like to congratulate all of the other nominees for their unbelievable performances.”

Xiao Yunhai looked at Ren for a second before continuing his speech.

”«The last book» was a really special movie for me. It was not just a movie but the effort of the talented cast and all the staff involved in the making of the movie.”

As Xiao Yunhai was giving his speech, Ren took a sigh and slightly lowered his head.

'Ah, I lost in the end.'

He didn't have much thoughts about winning at first but there was still some sort of hope in his heart.

That hope inside his heart when he saw Xiao Rin winning the award. He thought that maybe, he can also win the award.

But something can't be changed no matter how much one changes the future.

It was an inevitable fact that Ren had to agree in the end.

It was not like he was depressed. He knew that he would get many opportunities in the future.

He was also not feeling jealous that Xiao Rin was able to win the award and not him. There was nothing like that in his heart.

He was just sad because he lost to Xiao Yunhai.

Ren had been fairly successful since he regressed back in time and maybe, because of that, the feeling of a failure was hard to bear for him.

In the end, Ren composed himself together and clapped when Xiao Yunhai's speech ended.

He had given up on smoking after he had regressed but today, he felt like smoking again.

An actor would give it his all to play a single role and when he would get nominated for an award, he would of course hope to win it.

If he was able to win it, then it's all good but if he lost, then, he would surely feel like his efforts had gone to waste.
