“What’s wrong? No one’s picking up?” s.h.i.+ Le asked as he sat on the couch when he saw s.h.i.+ Nuannuan holding the phone in a daze.

s.h.i.+ Nuannuan turned to look at s.h.i.+ Le. Then, she shook her head. “I can’t get through.”

s.h.i.+ Le frowned.

Where did the two women go?

“I’ll call brother!” As she said this, s.h.i.+ Nuannuan quickly dialed s.h.i.+ Yuting’s cellphone number.

It was almost noon.
