Mei Feng took a step back, completely unnerved by Shen Zihao’s declaration.

She looked at him with an expression of shock and disbelief.

She gulped and slowly said, “Zihao, you- you—”

“Take her away.”

A housekeeper appeared at Shen Zihao’s instruction. “This way please,” she ushered the stunned woman.

Before Mei Feng could say another word, Shen Zihao had turned and walked back into the house, with his back to her. She opened her mouth but eventually shut it again without saying anything.

She took in a deep breath and then went home to the Shen family residence.

But the moment she arrived home, she saw the housekeepers filing out of the house, one at a time.

Mei Feng was shocked and dashed up to them, asking, “What are you people doing? Did I ask you to leave?”

The housekeepers did not look at her. They instead walked around her and continued to leave.

In a panic, Mei Feng grabbed one of them and said, “What am I going to be eating tonight if all of you leave? I won’t allow this!”

“There’s no longer a master in the house. Are you going to keep a bunch of people here to look after an empty house?” A stern voice suddenly spoke. Mei Feng froze.

She spun around and saw Old Master Shen walking out.

He held a walking stick and was aided by someone. He stood there staring at Mei Feng sternly and with a look of despise, like she was a piece of trash.

Mei Feng choked and lowered her head. She spoke, “Dad, what brings you here?”

Senior Master Shen laughed derisively and said, “Don’t call me Dad. I’ve never recognized you as my daughter-in-law.”

Mei Feng fell silent.

She took a step towards him and continued, “Dad, whether you recognize me or not, I’m still Shen Xiu’s wife. Shen Xiu just passed away a few days ago, you can’t treat me this way.”
