Chapter 6 Part1 (1/2)

A week of practice battles with Arisa.

The results were that my chances of victory were 60%.

”Ufufu!”

Arisa is walking around me, who's laying down on the sofa in the living room, in a good mood.

I'm tired, so be quiet……while thinking that, I felt like teasing her for a bit.

”Arisa-sensei, you're in such a good mood even though you have more losses than wins?”

In front of my eyes, Arisa takes the imposing stance of flexing her arms.

”You see, right now I'm happy that Edgar is growing steadily, thanks to his amazing teacher!”

To Arisa who's going 'how's that!', and is satisfied, I lost my urge to tease her.

(——This is having the opposite effect.)

”In reality I have figured out how to fight against magicians. Thanks Arisa.”

”You're welcome!”

Even more pleased than before. She *ehhen* stuck out her chest.

What I painfully learned in training with Arisa is that in battles between magicians, it’s [easy to win].

You can win if you keep trying various attacks until your opponent's imagination can’t keep up.

The attacker can think about how their opponent will react to their attacks. Then, according to how they will react, you just have to image attacking them again. You just do this until the opponent falls, or you run out of magic power.

However, for the defending side, after you confirm the opponent's attack, you have to instantly imagine how to defend yourself, and of course while you're defending yourself more attacks will come. While dealing with those, you have to find a way to cope with the situation.

Also, in order to fight back you have to imagine defending yourself at the same time as imagining your attack.

Especially for unknown attacks, you'd fall into a state of panic, and become unable to form an image properly.

Simply put, the defending side has to think much more than the attacking side.

That's when I remember the nature of my magic.

First, between people with the same attack range, my magic can take the first move. This is because I can use my magic to accelerate flying objects.

Furthermore, I can move all the substances in my range, even my enemy's magic walls, and have them help my attacks.

In other words, when I attack my opponent from outside their range, if my opponent's means of defense wall within my range, I'll win.

My s.p.a.ce magic is overwhelmingly advantageous in interpersonal combat.

By taking advantage of this, I was able to s.n.a.t.c.h away victory from Arisa.

”At any rate, Ed, your magic power has been growing at tremendous speed.
