-6 Chapter 109: Home 1 (1/2)

City B was a tiny city, and it gained the t.i.tle of a sub-city just a few years ago. So even though it was called 'City,' the people and their way of living were still like those in the countryside.

Yi Fei came from an upper-middle-cla.s.s family. Her family members were mostly scholar and teachers like her. They were not rich, but they had enough money to spend for themselves.

In City B, Yi Fei's family house was a brick house with a beautiful patio and a nursery to the right side of the house. On the left side of the house, Wu Chen could see a white dog kennel. There was a slate on the doghouse with the word 'Baby' engraved on it.

Yi Fei and Wu Chen arrived at Yi Fei's house in City B around afternoon. The weather was not too hot, and the wind blew softly.

Yi Fei went out of the car, and she wanted to surprise her parents, but barking sound could be heard from the kennel loudly. The barking noise was so loud and fierce; Wu Chen thought that it would be a huge dog.

”Baby…Baby, come here” Yi Fei stopped near Wu Chen's car. She patted her thigh while calling for baby.

A small brown mutt rushed out from the kennel and leaped towards Yi Fei's thigh. ”Who's the good boy? Who's the good boy?” Yi Fei scratched the mutt, and the mutt barked happily while wagging its tail.

Shortly after that, a woman in her early late forty came out of the house. ”Baby, who are you barking to?” She wore a black slack with a white Anglaise top. She put her hair in a messy bun. She walked in a carefree manner, but she stopped in her track upon seeing a handsome man with an expensive looking car standing beside an unknown woman who was playing with her dog. Her shocked doubled when the woman looked up to her.

Her daughter with a man.

With a MAN.

A MAN that is not John.

Wu Chen noticed the resemblance between Yi Fei and the woman. They were both short and had long hair. Their eyes were the same shape. Wu Chen instantly knew that the woman was Yi Fei's mother.

Yi Fei was looking down while playing with the brown mutt and she was not aware that her mother had stepped out of the house. When she lifted her head, the woman gasped before she went back into her home and accidentally slammed the door hard when she closed the door.

Ah, it must be heredity. Wu Chen thought that both mom and daughter liked to slam the door when they were surprised. Like mother, like daughter.

Yi Fei looked at Wu Chen. ”My mom must be shocked to see you. See? Even my neighbors are peeking from their window secretly. ha! As if I didn't see them” Wu Chen looked at the other houses nearby; he could see some people were looking at them from their window pane.

Yi Fei walked towards the door, and the dog walked along beside her. Before she could reach her door, the door jerked opened to reveal a man in his late forty with a black rimmed spectacle.

”Ah Fei! It's you. I thought your mom was hallucinating when she told me that you are standing outside the house” The man hugged Yi Fei in a big bear hug. He was only slightly taller than Yi Fei, so it was easy for him to rest his chin on top of Yi Fei's head.

The man had a loving expression when he hugged Yi Fei, but when he turned to look at Wu Chen, his eyes changed into a Super Saiyan mode. With Yi Fei still in his embrace, Yi Fei didn't catch the mean eyes his father gave to Wu Chen.

”And may I ask who you might be?” Yi Fei's father gave Wu Chen a very mean look to scare him off. He knew that he asked Yi Fei to bring his boyfriend to see them during the school holiday, but he didn't expect it to be true. His daughter never had a boyfriend after all.

Wu Chen was not intimidated by Yi Fei's father. In the corporate world, he had met a lot of compet.i.tors and almost most of them gave him a look that was twice meaner than the one given by Yi Fei's father. Wu Chen extended his hand.

”I am Wu Chen, Fei Fei's boyfriend. I am here to greet uncle and auntie as well as to send Fei Fei's home safely.” His introduction was brief and straightforward. Wu Chen did not exaggerate since both of Yi Fei's parents are teachers; they must have had their fair share of an exaggeration given by the high school students.
