-25 Chapter 90: Too Close (1/2)

Inside the black Lexus, both Jun Liu and NaNa were quiet. NaNa wanted to make small talk, but when she saw the man beside her had a grumpy look, she decided not to.

Jun Liu was driving without sparing any glance at the beautiful lady beside him. Sunday was supposed to be his day of rest, but he received a message, or more like an instruction, from Wu Chen to go pick up his cousin from the airport.

The message went something like this:

”Pick up NaNa from the airport at 1 P.M. I have an urgent thing to do.”

It did not leave him any room for argument. So, no matter how unwilling he was, he needed to go. Since he was staying at Wu Chen's place at the time being, he could at least help him that much. Jun Liu made a mental reminder to hasten the preparation of his place to stay in City L.

NaNa was not used to silence. She was a talkative girl ever since she could remember. Being in a closed s.p.a.ce with someone she was not close to made her suffocated. She mustered her courage to speak. She couldn't sit still anymore.

”Ah Jun, how are you?” NaNa started her conversation politely.

Jun Liu gave her a quick glance, but he said nothing. He saw her disappointed look when she opened the car's door and saw him instead of Wu Chen and that kind of, surprisingly, made him feel a little bit unhappy inside.

He was a proud man. Even though he did not like the company of a woman, he still feels pleased when women were fawning over him. It made him feel superior. Never did a woman display a disappointed look when they saw him. The apparent disappointment on NaNa's face when she saw him hurting his pride.

Even though Jun Liu did not say anything to her, but since he gave her a quick glance, NaNa took it as a green light to continue talking.

”Ah Jun, did something happened when I'm not around?” NaNa was trying to tone down her gossiping tone by asking a not-so-obvious question. ”Like, you know. If anything happens to my brother? Or to Yi Fei? It's not that I want to gossip or what, I'm just asking.”

Jun Liu jeered at NaNa in his heart. She said that she's not trying to gossip or what but she was trying to do that. Jun Liu wanted to ignore her but seeing how eager she was to gossip, Jun Liu thought that it might be fun to feed her off with a little bit of news as his revenge towards Wu Chen for making him a chauffeur during his off day.

”What do you want to know?” Jun Liu finally said his first sentence. The sight he saw when NaNa beamed up after his reply made him acknowledge something unconsciously – that Chong NaNa, indeed, a beautiful lady.

NaNa was shocked that Jun Liu had a decent reply to her question. She clasped her fingers and stared directly towards Jun Liu. ”About my brother's daily routine. Did he go out of the house often?”

The answer from Jun Liu was short and straightforward. Since NaNa wanted to know more, she would ask a few more questions, but the responses from Jun Liu were quick and direct; it made her wanted to crave for more.

Both of them were having endless conversations until they reached the apartment complex where NaNa lived. Feeling that she and Jun Liu was a friend now, NaNa excitedly told him how she and Yi Fei were living together, and they were always doing some fun things together.

Even though NaNa talked about 'fun things' animatedly with him, he couldn't help but thought that the 'fun things' she mentioned would be very different of the 'fun thing' he had in mind. Jun Liu tried to guess what the 'fun things' would be until he heard NaNa let out a loud gasp beside her.

He was curious, so he looked at NaNa, but NaNa was looking in a particular direction. Jun Liu followed her gaze and saw that she was looking at a red car; a disfigured car.

Jun Liu parked the black Lexus beside the red car and NaNa came out of the car to inspect the red car. She looked so broken-hearted. ”Your car?” Jun Liu asked.
