After some time, Yi Fei emerged from her room wearing a wine coloured long-sleeved blouse and a black jean. She put some efforts by dolling herself a bit because of this, after all, was their first official date as a couple.
Yi Fei looked more beautiful each time Wu Chen looked at her. It seemed absurd of how someone could look better and better the more he saw her.
The two of them went into Wu Chen's car. When Yi Fei was about to close the door, her phone rang and the ID of the caller was John.
Yi Fei looked at Wu Chen before she picked up the call.
”Honnnneeeeeyyyy, where are you? I received a very threatening note the moment I woke up this afternoon. I am scared but after considering it, I call you anyway. Where are you? Are you okay? John liked to drag the word 'honey' whenever he speaks with Yi Fei because he thought that he was cute if he did that.
”Well, good afternoon too, John… I am now…” Yi Fei looked at Wu Chen who started his car.
”Good afternoon my a**. Inside a car? With whom? Why are you inside a car? Anything happened that you can't tell me. Are you in danger? If yes, say the secret phrase” John was talking very quickly.
”Just… With someone… The point is, I am safe and sound. You don't have to worry about me. I am about to go get my lunch” Yi Fei was very conscious about the way she spoke because John and she had this very weird way to converse. Yi Fei did not want Wu Chen to think of her as a weirdo.
”Who's WC? Are you with WC? Let me meet this WC guy. I have a lot to say to him” John was very furious at the end of the line. He did not like another guy to get close to Yi Fei without his acknowledgement.
John or his other name, Yue Han, named himself as Yi Fei's best friend since their university day. Even though he was not interested in a woman but Yi Fei had a special place in his heart because he thought of her as his sister.
John and Yi Fei were close; close enough that even both of their parents' knew each other. That was why Yi Fei could drink with John because Yi Fei's mother thought of him as her own child.
Even though they were the same age, John took the role as Yi Fei's older brother to protect her from the male species that he did not like. Seeing how domineering the guy with the codename WC to him, John felt threatened.
Yi Fei put away the phone from her face.”John wanted to see you”. It was not a question but a statement. So, Wu Chen could only nod to indicate his consent to meeting this John guy when in reality, he wanted to have lunch alone with Yi Fei.
”Okay, let's have lunch together. Where are you?” Yi Fei was worried about John's reaction to Wu Chen because previously, he was head over heels upon seeing Wu Chen's picture in the magazine.
John was still at the Wu Hotel so Yi Fei decided that they should have their lunch at the Wu Hotel restaurant. Wu Chen had no objection as long he could be together with Yi Fei.
John was sitting on the table near the window when he saw Yi Fei entered the restaurant and searched for him. John waved his hand and when Yi Fei saw him, she walked towards his direction.
John was trying to see whether she had someone else with her but he couldn't see anyone. He could only see a male G.o.d behind her. The male G.o.d seemed to be walking towards his table too. John thought that the male G.o.d seemed familiar; he looked just like Wu Chen, the sole heir of Wu Group.
