-56 Chapter 60: One Step Ahead (1/2)

On Monday morning when Yi Fei reached her table, there was a pink box on her table. The box had a big ribbon wrapped around it.

There was a pink card on top of the box. Yi Fei opened the card. There were only two words and a symbol written on the card – For You and a heart symbol.

Yi Fei was suspicious of the box. Since she had a bad experience with box previously, she was not really happy when she saw one on her table. She checked the exterior of the box but none other information could be found; the only clue she had was the card and it didn't really help much.

She took a deep breath before she opened the box, she did not have any expectation of what was inside the box. She only hoped that it wasn't something scary like the one she received last time.

She was so happy when she opened the box because they were a big unicorn plush toy inside. She took out the unicorn and hugged it.

”So fluffyyyyyyy” Yi Fei hugged the toy when Cheng Xiao Meng arrived at her table. Upon seeing the card and the box, she snickered.

”You are very lucky. People keep on giving you things for free” Cheng Xiao Meng had a smile on her face but her words were laced with sarcasm.

Yi Fei didn't mind her and kept hugging it. Suddenly, her phone rang. The caller was Wu Chen. Cheng Xiao Meng gave a quick glance at Yi Fei's phone and when she saw the ID of the caller, she rolled her eyes.

”Good morning Chen Chen” Yi Fei saw that Cheng Xiao Meng rolled her eyes at her. So when she took the call from Wu Chen, she lowered her excited voice.

”Did you get the Unicorn I sent you? I'll be away from today till Thursday. So, the Unicorn will accompany you in my stead. You can name it if you want to” Wu Chen was at the airport when he made the call. He purposely asked Liu s.h.i.+ to send the box to Yi Fei's school just to show off to Bai Jing Ting.

”I really love the Unicorn. Thank you so much” Yi Fei's mind was full of the thought of the Unicorn she held in her arm. She was thinking what she should name it.

Wu Chen was helpless at the airport. There was not the slightest hint of sadness or remorse in Yi Fei's tone. He hoped that Yi Fei might be a bit sad because he will be away for a few days but as always, Yi Fei's mind worked differently from his mind.

”Aren't you going to be sad when I am away?” Wu Chen tried his luck.

”Why should I? I have Lay to accompany me. Also, you'll be back on Thursday, right?” Yi Fei stroked the Unicorn's horn. She decided to name it Lay as a tribute to her favourite healing Unicorn.

”Yes, we can go grocery shopping on Friday. Who's Lay?” Wu Chen had prepared this time so he wasn't really sad when Yi Fei said that she won't be sad but he didn't know who Lay is. He thought that he had heard the name from Liu s.h.i.+ before.

”Lay is the Unicorn you gave me” Yi Fei chuckled.

When they were teenagers, Wu Chen always accompanies NaNa to watch romantic movies and dramas. In the movies and dramas, when the male character gave a big plush toy or teddy bear to the girl he liked, the girl will name it after the guy. Wu Chen thought that every woman's mind worked that way. It seemed like Yi Fei was the odd one.
