-59 Chapter 57: Influenced (2/2)

In a certain place, a certain someone was reading a book alone in the balcony when his phone rang. When he checked the id of the caller, it was an unnamed caller but he remembered the string of number like the back of his hand.

”Mr. Bai, I already sent the file you want to your email” The unnamed caller spoke direct to the point.

”Thank you” Bai Jing Ting spoke briefly before he hung up the call.

Bai Jing Ting put down the book he was reading and opened her laptop. He went into his email to check the file mentioned by the unnamed caller.

He clicked on the file named 'Wen Han background information'.

The file was full of information that he had already known. He browsed through the file to check just in case if there's something he didn't know about. His eyes stopped at the last information.

”Business dealing between Wen Company and Wu Group was cancelled. The reason – Wu Chen of the Wu Group mentioned that he won't do business with someone who has questionable moral. Wen Han went to see Wu Chen in Wu Hotel last Wednesday but he did not manage to change Wu Chen's mind”.

Bai Jing Ting reread the same sentences for a few times before reality kicked in.

Wu Chen was in City L – Wu Chen really returned to City L.

Bai Jing Ting took his phone and dialled Yi Fei's number. For some reasons, he had this feeling that Yi Fei had something to do with Wu Chen's return to City L.

The phone rang for a few times before Yi Fei picked up her phone.

”h.e.l.lo, Brother Ting. What's up, man?” Yi Fei tried to be a hipster.

”Fei, what are you doing?” After knowing that Wu Chen had returned to City L, Bai Jing Ting felt uncomfortable.

”I'm on my way back” Yi Fei spoke a little too cheerful.

Bai Jing Ting knew that Yi Fei rarely went out after it got dark. One thing he knew for sure was that Yi Fei won't pick up phone call when she was driving.

From the background of her voice, Bai Jing Ting heard a faint male voice and he knew the voice – he knew it too well.

For some reasons, he felt as if Yi Fei was out of reach; that she was too far from him and he couldn't get to her anymore.
