-111 Chapter 5: Lunch (1/2)
The next day, Wu Chen received a call from his secretary, telling him that his car arrived safely in City L. Wu Chen did not drive and went to City L earlier via plane. City L is quite far from City K. If one would like to drive, it would take 8 hours driving time to reach City L from City K. Wu Chen did not have the patience to drive alone for 8 hours. Hence, he asked his secretary to drive his car from City K to City L.
Wu Chen's arrival in City L was known to all the employees in the Wu Hotel. Wu Chen did not want to announce his appearance because he did not want to alert the mole but thanks to his followers on the internet, his every move was announced in the Weibo.
It was not his intention to be famous but that's what you get when you are rich, single and handsome. He rarely updates his Weibo but his followers keep on increasing. Now, he has a total of few millions of followers.
Wu Chen started his work in Wu Hotel by visiting all departments. It was almost twelve in the afternoon when he finished visiting all departments and introducing himself to all the head departments. He felt that he needed to establish a good connection with every head of the departments in order to be able to communicate efficiently.
Seeing that it was almost time for lunch, he called his beloved cousin to have lunch together. They have not eaten lunch together for a very long time. So, Wu Chen called NaNa to invite her out for lunch. He was thinking that while having lunch, he wanted to convince her to stop being heartbroken because of one useless man and return home to her parents.
NaNa picked up her phone after a few beeps. Wu Chen invited her for lunch and she agreed. ”Wait, wait, wait, wait… Can I bring my housemate along? I am supposed to go eat with her today but since you are buying me lunch, can she come along too? She likes free food too”.
NaNa literally screamed right before he wanted to hang up the call. Wu Chen did not really want other people to join their lunch because it will be hard for him to pursue the topic of asking his cousin to go home but he agreed anyway.
When it's time, Wu Chen went to the Faith Middle School to pick up NaNa for lunch. He saw that NaNa came alone so he did not ask about her housemate. They went to the restaurant recommended by NaNa to eat.
Since City L is just a small city, there was not a high-cla.s.s restaurant around. Eating at the restaurant at the Wu Hotel was considered high cla.s.s enough. Wu Chen did ask NaNa to eat lunch at the hotel but NaNa insisted that she was going to bring him to somewhere better and cheap.
Money is never a problem with Wu Chen; he was never picky about what he eats as long as the food is clean. ”I thought your housemate is coming along. I guess she's busy”, trying to start the conversation, Wu Chen used NaNa's housemate as a starter.
”I wanted to ask her to come with me but before I even get the chance to ask her, I saw that she was nagging the student so I guess she must be in bad mood. I got scared, so I did not want to take the risk of asking her. She's very scary when she's angry”. Wu Chen could not help but wonder how that housemate would look like. He pictured that the housemate must be quite old since she is very stern and likes to nag at students.
