“……This is what we’ve heard from the guild and so”

Lynk concludes it with that and, everybody sinks into silence. Monsters that appeared from the ground suddenly huh. Furthermore, in all four directions so they don’t let the people escape outside

“……This, feels like it’s intentional”

“Aa, I feel the same as well”

It seems Marie-san and Gand-san also think the same. From what I’ve heard, it seems the soldiers are investigating the holes the monsters appeared from but, because it’s rather deep and has a repulsive stench, there’s apparently almost no progress.

That’s something that can’t be helped. As far as I heard, the zombies were apparently in there for a couple of days. The stench of a zombie’s decay is really disgusting.

“And, I don’t know whether it’s true or not but, there were apparently suspicious people spotted in this town”

“Suspicious people?”

Everybody’s gazes gather on Gand-san after what he said. After hearing what Gand-san said, from the day the monsters attacked the town, there have apparently been sightings of a suspicious guy who wore a black robe in town.

The person’s motives aren’t known but, they seem to be walking around town. It’s just that, it seems the soldiers tried trailing that person but, they lose sight of them midway through.

“Isn’t that person obviously suspicious”

“Aa. But, it seems the person’s elusive, it’s not even known where or when that person will appear. Even when spotted occasionally, the person seems to be very slippery and the soldiers were shaken off”

“Uーn, besides, it’s not a definite that the said person is related to the case this time”

We who have reached a dead end fall into silence. Right now, the clues are, the holes where the monsters appeared and the suspicious black-robed person who appeared after the monsters attacked the town.

“Well, nothing can be done just by dwelling on it. We can’t do anything but to search”

That’s also right. Everybody nods to Lynk’s words. For the time being, we talked about our plans for tomorrow and everybody went to rest.

And the next day, we separated into two groups to investigate. We are investigating with the teams separated into, Gand-san and me, Lynk and Marie-san.

Marie-san complained to Lynk but, it’s the usual thing so we just watched. She’ll probably give up in time.

The Lynk and Marie-san pair is in charge of searching for the black-robed guy, we are in charge of investigating the holes that the monsters appeared from.

Separating from the two who are still disputing, Gand-san and I walk the streets. It’s not to the extent of yesterday but, my chest is in pain. The entire time since I entered this town. As I thought, is there something in this town?

“Oi, are you alright, Mylene. You look pale again, you know?”

“Ah, yes, I’m fine, Gand-san”

“Is that so? Well, don’t overdo it. We are relying on you”

I smile as I nod to Gand-san’s words. I can’t just be making everybody worry. I smile once again to Gand-san to show that I’m alright and, I walk ahead.

Gand-san looks as though he wants to say something but, he quietly follows after me. My apologies for making you worry.
