Experiment (Bangle)

“……Fuu, it has been a long time since I’m outside”

The place we came to after having Darx create a hole connecting to the gap between life and death is, a forest near a village somewhere in the Mestoa Kingdom. Since we’ll lose to the numbers even if we went to a town, it’s still not, the time to attack yet.

Besides, the objective today is to verify the effect of the bangle and to insert some soul into the necklace. If we do it excessively gaudily, it’ll just make things difficult in the future. We won’t be discovered if we are in the gap between life and death but, even so, there’s no such thing as being too careful.

“Oo! It has been a long time since I’ve been outside! This smell, so nostalgic!”

……If only this fellow doesn’t do anything bothersome.

“Liscia, I think you know but, the objective is to test my strength. Don’t get carried away too much”

“I get it, Master. Even I know how to differentiate between normal and battle time. Besides, feeling the magic power from the nearby village, Master is more than enough. There’s no place for me”

Well, it’s fine if she gets it. I set my hands on the floor and release my magic power. I look for corpses in this forest……as expected, there are corpses in a forest that monsters are inhabiting.

What I found was, 5 wolf bones, 12 goblin corpses, 8 wraiths huh. A so-so number. There are still others but, this should be fine for something like a village.

“Oo, the results of your practice is showing, Master. Creating skeletons that are used for training every day bore its fruits”

“Well, if it’s something of this calibre. But, this still isn’t enough. The journey is treacherous”

“What, whatever wall stands in your way, I who is Master’s sword will penetrate it all”

Liscia puffs out her chest as she says that. I think her gallant places like this is cool. She’ll probably get carried away if I praise her so I won’t say anything.

“Is that so. Then I’ll be relying on you, Liscia. Now then, you guys. There should be a village nearby. Head over there. It’s fine to just seal the movements of the humans without killing them.”

The dead spirits nodded to me with their body clattering. Uーn, they don’t seem to really understand. Darx also said it but, it seems that monsters that used souls with no self can only follow simple orders.

The dead spirits ran off after receiving my orders. Well, I can obtain the souls even if they are killed so I don’t mind. Alright, shall I put on the mask and robe pa.s.sed to me from Chrono and go as well. Both of it is ordinary and mediocre things.

Liscia has also put on her full face helmet that covers her entire face before I know it. It might be relics from when she was alive but, her entire body is in s.h.i.+ny white and gold armour. Though her figure illuminated under the moonlit night is beautiful

“You, you’re too showy for a dead spirit. Change into an all black armour”

“Wha! This armour was bestowed upon by the Holy King when I was appointed the Holy Knights Captain! To remove it is……”

“It’s something you received from the Holy Kingdom you hate, right?”

“……Ah”

Liscia thinks about what I said. Well, it’s up to Lisicia. I put on the mask and head towards the village. Because cries and shouts can already be heard, the fight has probably already begun.

“Hey, Liscia, let’s go. Aren’t you going to become my sword?”

“Muu, th, that’s right. Shall we go”

After slightly walking in the forest, the stench of blood can be smelled. I’ve also gotten used to this smell huh. Well, it’s my own blood though.

“Hurry up and evacuate the ones that can’t fight, women, and children! The men, be the s.h.i.+elds!”

“s.h.i.+t! This skeleton dog is fast! It went over there!”

“Is there n.o.body who can use magic! The wraiths are coming!”

“D, don’t come over here! Don’t come over hereeeee!”
