Chapter 24: She Is Abducted And Sold! (2/2)

She calmed herself down and tried to find a way out of her dilemma. There was a sudden sound of footsteps coming towards her, and then the wooden door was pushed open from the outside and squeaked.

The very next second, someone walked in.

”Who are you?” Xu Zijin struggled to sit up, picked up a pillow and hugged it tight to her chest, as her big eyes were guarded and vigilant.

”You are blind?” a middle-aged woman's voice asked. Although Xu Zijin couldn't see the woman, she knew that the woman must be regarding her with a contemptuous look.

The woman turned around and said to a middle-aged man, ”d.a.m.n it! I didn't find her blind because she was in sleep when we bought her from Mr. Hei. She's beautiful and I thought that it was a good deal. But I didn't expect that she was a blind woman. How dared Mr. Hei cheat me! I'm going to settle scores with him.”

”Calm down and listen to me. Mr. Hei is an extremely astute trafficker. And now he must have already left our village. Everything has two sides. Just think about Mr. Li's daughter-in-law. She is not blind, but every day she stirs up trouble. So, for us, it's okay to have a blind daughter-in-law because she is incapable of running away.” The man persuaded, ”Our son is different from other normal men. As long as she can give birth to our grandson, I think she is worth the money we paid.”

The middle-aged woman was persuaded. Poker-faced, she said to Xu Zijin, who was sitting on the bed and trembling, in a gruff voice, ”Listen to me carefully. I don't care where you are from. I spent 20,000 yuan on you and from now on, you are my son's wife.

In truth, I wanted to buy an honest, obedient and capable woman to be my daughter-in-law. Who could have expected that you are blind? What rotten luck! Alas! Oh well, as long as you marry my son and give birth to my grandson, I will treat you well. But if you attempt to run away, I'll show you no mercy.”

After warning Xu Zijin, they two went out.

The room quietened down. Xu Zijin was restless, her heart beating frantically with fear at her own unknown fate.

”Have I really been sold?” she murmured to herself.

Xu Zijin had seen some news reports saying that some poor women had been abducted and sold to families in some G.o.d-forsaken villages and been treated as a tool to bear children.

She had sincerely prayed for those women, hoping that they could be saved and live a happy life. However, not once did it occur to her that she would be kidnapped and sold by the human traffickers.
