Chapter 3: Abort The Child! (2/2)

When Fu Sinian woke up, he found himself lying on a big bed. He knitted his brows, raised his hand and pressed his throbbing temples with his fingers.

“How do you feel?” Su Xiyu in a white gown walked in.

“What's the matter with me? What about Xu Zijin?” Fu Sinian sat up and pulled out the needle of the perfusion tube from the back of his hand without hesitation.

Su Xiyu immediately placed a pad of cotton-wool on the spot where the needle had p.r.i.c.ked Fu Sinian's hand.

“She’s all right,” Su Xiyu said. “But I think you are not in a good condition. Sudden syncope is not a good sign for you. If you don’t want to stay in hospital to recuperate, you should change your lifestyle. In order to be healthy, you'd better live a peaceful life.”

“Did she have an abortion?”

A peaceful life? He had been dragged into the depths of despair and hatred since he was 8 years old. How could he live a peaceful life?

Su Xiyu didn’t answer his question.

Fu Sinian furrowed his brow with a horrible expression on his face. “Why did you save that unborn child?”

Su Xiyu frowned and looked at Fu Sinian with curious eyes. “Sinian, do you really have no recollection of what happened that night?”

Fu Sinian asked with a puzzled look on his face, “What happened?”

“Nothing.” Su Xiyu subconsciously withheld the truth. With a grave look on his face, he continued, “Xu Zijin is fine. The effect of the anaesthetic is wearing off and she will wake up soon. I suspect that this time you fainted because of… You should get a thorough exam at least.”

“I don't need a check-up.” Fu Sinian got out of the bed, changed his clothes and left.

When Fu Sinian walked into Xu Zijin's ward, she had been awake for a while. She huddled up in her bed and hugged a b.l.o.o.d.y garment tight to her chest, her eyes gla.s.sy, like a soulless puppet.

As Fu Sinian neared the bed, he saw the divorce agreement on the bedside table at a glance. What was more, she had signed her name on the dotted line in the bottom right-hand corner of the agreement – Xu Zijin, which needled him.

The signature was dull-red. He looked carefully at it and found that it was written in blood.

Fu Sinian's face darkened as he picked up the agreement with his slender fingers, fixed her with a piercing stare and said in a cold voice, “Xu Zijin, what game are you playing?”

At this moment, he couldn't restrain his anger anymore.
