CHAPTER 29: STRANGER

The old man took the folder, the folder wasn’t binded and when opened there were distinctively a lot less papers than the previous residence booklet had, at least it lacked one third of the thickness of previous booklet.

The old man opened the folder and slowly looked at the pages one by one, there was not a slightest expression on his face but he was extremely shocked inside his heart. He had lived there for more than ten years, naturally this information and details were of great significance, and more importantly the beginning pages of the folders were very different. This folder was not based on a household collection of information, but according to age and s.e.x, and at the back there were some marks to indicate who the head of the household was and the number of people living in that household on the first several pages.

Just a glance at the beginning of the pages and the information was quite easy to remember. For example, the elderly’s data were annotated, those people who like activities, those who rarely go out and so on.

The old man soon finished.

There was a silence at the bookstore. The old man gently stroked the folder and in his heart suddenly words and phrases started to emerge: The young deserves to be treated with respect.

Suddenly the old man remembered what Zhang Yang said at the beginning.

“You told that you can’t stay here for long?” The old man asked.

“Yes.”

“Why?”

“ It’s nothing, I agreed with Liu Biao to guard this alley for twenty days, and it’s been 1 week now, not that long.”

“ … Well, why don’t you consider about staying, I think this job should be easier for you?” The old man stared at Zhang Yang’s eyes as if he thoroughly had an idea on what was on Zhang Yang’s mind.

“That ….. still not ..” Zhang Yang felt uneasy to say that the money was less.

“Oh, the money’s not enough?” The so called mature experienced old man immediately speculated Zhang Yang’s thought from his flas.h.i.+ng eyes.

“That … Cough …”

“Consider it, If you really enter this *** as you are now, and as long as you have this ability, it will be very easy to get to the higher position. I lived here for 17 years and eleven people have changed throughout these years, among which five of them have connected really well with the organization. Zhang Yang suddenly felt a psychological pressure emerging from the old man.

“Well, think about it child, remember it is easy to have control with force, but wisdom is what makes you stand out among others. C City is a very small place, here is just the starting point, do you understand?” The old man said in a deep voice.

“Yes ah, C City is quite small.” Zhang Yang fully agreed with the old man, “ However, seventh brother …?”

“Do you know the seventh brother?” The old man face discolored.

“Cough … No ... I just heard about it …” Zhang Yang didn’t think that the old man would react in that way.

“Child, let me give you an advice, a very important one. ‘Seventh brother’ such words should stay in your mouth, but must be kept in the heart for good. It is better to not mention the name of some people, it’s easy to get yourself killed.” The old man looked at him with a serious face.

“Why can’t I mention it?” Zhang Yang with astonishment.
