41 The Elf or The Egg? side story (1/2)

”Damn Merchants! Telling me they have no hatchable eggs...”

A heavily dressed Jenkins was currently roaming around in a poor town, filled with old and broken buildings of all sizes. The wood which held them togheter was both chipped and half rotten. Giving of a woody stench which combined with the wet dirt road filling the excess space.

”What is Michael doing in that damn forrest anyways? Tsk, he better have an excuse for this great lord, lest I turn his little brother into a talking snake.”

Each step taken sunk his thick boots further into the wet earth, increasing the growing annoyance and desire to give up every time.

'This auction better be worth it, or this great lord shall sink this wetland into the fiftth floor of hell.'

Slowly, Jenkins approached some half ruind building, looking like it hadn't had any visitors in several centuries.

He walked up to the fungus covered entrance and gave a weak knock.

”Who's there?”

A deep manly voice echoed on the other end.

”Yellow reaper.”

Without answering this time, the door only slowly opened itself. A tall buff man with a cap on his head greeted him while stepping to the side.

”This way, esteemed guest.”

Jenkins only snorted, proceeding to following the him in whilst the door closed behind them.

He was lead through a rotting passage, and finally arrived in a large hall filled with several rows of occupied leather seats, all surrounded a small wood stage. Numerous cloaked men and women were sitting down, waiting for what seemed like a show to begin.

As he walked towards one of the empty spots near the middle row, some cloaked guy walked up on the stage, standing before them and proceeding to yell out. Making sure that his deep voice echoed throughout the room.

”Dear guests! I welcome you to the yearly auction here at The black Bell!”

No one in the crowd clapped. Only some familiar faces smiled or nodded back at the host.

Seeing the impatiant audience made him hasten the introduction. Not wishing to waste any more time, he then started clapping his hands in the air. Symbolizing for the auction to begin.

”Good! Good! Then let us begin...”

A tray covered in some type of black carpet was rolled onto the stage by some well equipped guards.

”The first items for tonight is a set of martial art manuals and battle arts suitable for general layer fighters! The starting bid is...”

All kinds of different weapons and training books were displayed, one after the other. While this may cause any other individual to fly off into a frenzy, Jenkins almost felt the soul leave his body every time a new item was shown.

'Dammit, why did I even come here again?'

He was getting increasingly bored and frustrated by the terrible items and was planning on leaving.

That is, until..

”And now, for our last bidding round!”

A small table was teleported before the excited auctioneer. Covered in the same type of rug all the other usually had.

”These items are not your typical weapons or books, but the plundered fruits of research belonging to one of the most famed Magus-Biomancers of our time!”

The rug was dramatically pulled off. Gliding through the air while revealing the objects underneath.

A variation of different surgical gadgets and organs were evenly spread out. The equipment was all cleaned, and the weird organs were stored in jars. Most likely to keep them from rotting.

”Kelen Innar. The biomancer who once slaughtered his way into the heart of the beast continent and back. He was confirmed to have went into hiding many years ago.”

”However, while he is gone for now, several of his old hideouts and facilities still remain hidden to this day! And not too long ago, we found one. Resting deep withing the now cut down hellgreen woods!”

Jenkins's eyes wandered over the tray filled with meatballs and knifes, finally landing on a small stand storing three different colored orbs. Each one in a seperate tubes.

”All the organs here are in the 'Biokinetic enhancement' category! Meaning you can replaced them with your own, boosting and adding a superior bloodline to the body!”

He paused a second, making sure all was heard.

”And best of all, our researchers have found out that there are currently no negative side effects!”

Several of the guests opened their eyes after hearing what he said. Infusing different bloodlines into ones body would usually cause all sorts of mutations and after effects down the lane. But here, non were discovered.

This was most likely because the previous owner had made them perfectly compatible with the anatomy and genome of a human.

The biomancer should have created several generations of clones, slowly adapting each organ to perfectly fuse with a host of race to his own.

The auctioneer watched as the crowd tensed up, and he smiled deeper while moving over to the last items.
