When Xu Chencan returned to the Chu Clan, he could still hear the voices of Su Nan.

Did he really trust Chu Lingyu too much? It was as if she had never suspected him.

Chu Lingyu returned from the outside reeking of alcohol, only to see Xu Chencan sitting in the living room in a daze. Judging from her dazed look, she had probably been there for quite a while.

”Can Can Can.” Chu Lingyu used his drunkenness to walk to Xu ChenCan's side and sit down, then he took her hand.

Xu Chencan raised his head and accidentally knocked into his dazed eyes, unable to recover from his shock for a long time.

Seeing her like this, Chu Lingyu could not help but laugh.

He raised his hand to caress Xu Chencan's cheek. He wasn't sure if it was because he remembered the incident where he had duped her that day, but he stiffly retracted his hand.

”There's a gathering at the old house tomorrow. Come back with me.” Chu Lingyu tugged on her irritating tie and told her the itinerary.

”Do you know I'm not working tomorrow?” Xu Chencan looked at him in confusion.

Otherwise, why would Chu Lingyu tell him this, even without asking if he was free?

Chu Lingyu only smiled, gently pinching her cheeks, saying, ”I know everything about you.”

Xu Chencan looked at him speechlessly. He shouldn't have asked him these questions.

Looking at Chu Lingyu's face, Xu Chencan suddenly thought of what Su Nan had said. Why did he believe Chu Lingyu so much?

”What's wrong?” Seeing her in a daze again, Chu Lingyu looked at her with a puzzled expression.

With a quick thought, he realized who it was. A cold glint flashed across his eyes.

She had just met Su Nan today, and he must have said something that she shouldn't have.

Xu Chencan stood up, backing away in panic. ”I have a topic to do. I'll be going up first.”

With that, Xu Chencan fled, not daring to stay here any longer.

Looking at her back, Chu Lingyu gloomily lowered his head and tightly clenched his hands.

The chill in the living room seemed to have increased even more. Aunt Ling had originally planned to send him some tea and alcohol, but now she quietly returned to her room, pretending not to see anything.

The next day, Xu Chencan seemed to have already forgotten about returning to his old dwelling. He nonchalantly went downstairs to eat breakfast before going out to look for Su Nan.

However, when he saw Chu Lingyu leisurely reading a newspaper in the living room, all the memories he had of the previous night flooded out from his brain.

Chu Lingyu raised her head to look at Xu Chencan, teasing him with a smile, ”My family is very easy to get along with, they don't have any evil women.”

”…” Xu Chencan rolled his eyes and walked in front of him. ”I'm not afraid of your family.”

She nodded, as if hypnotizing herself.

Chu Lingyu put down the newspaper, and looked at her with a faint smile, clearly not believing her words.

”What I said was true.” Xu Chencan straightened his back and left a few words, then turned around and left for breakfast.

When she put down her chopsticks, Chu Lingyu silently appeared behind her. She stroked her chin as she sized her up.

”Wear it casually. Go change into a light yellow dress and put on the jewelry that I got people to bring back from France. The shoes shouldn't have too high of a base.” Chu Lingyu made some arrangements for her and let her go upstairs.

When Xu Chencan came downstairs again, it was indeed much better than before.
