Xu Chencan paused for a moment before following him.

They went to the dining room together.

Xue Tianning didn't purposefully wait for her and took the lead to place his plate after ordering the dishes.

Xu Chencan was in the middle of ordering food when she heard someone call out to her. ”Xu Chencan, someone's looking for you.”

She turned around and saw Auntie Ling standing at the entrance to the dining hall, smiling and waving at her.

Xu Chencan walked over with a tray. ”Aunt Ling, why are you here?”

”ChenCan, I've brought you some food.” Auntie Ling raised the lunchbox in her hands.

”I, but I already bought some food.” Xu Chencan felt a bit embarrassed. ”Aunt Ling, it must have been hard for you to come all the way here.”

”What's so hard about that?” Aunt Ling didn't seem to mind. She pulled her to an empty table and set her plate aside. ”You're working so hard. How can you eat only this much? ”Chencan, you're too skinny, and you often stay up late. You have to take good care of your wounds.”

As she spoke, she opened the box and carried the food out.

In the end, there were a total of four dishes and a bowl of soup, as well as a small bamboo tube of rice on the table.

Xu Chencan was surprised. ”That many?”

”Hurry up and eat it. If you get cold, eating it will hurt your stomach.” Aunt Ling took out a spoon and chopsticks and handed them to her.

Xu Chencan thanked him and ate it.

Aunt Ling looked at her with a smile.

”Aunt Ling, aren't you going to eat?”

”I've already eaten.”

”But Auntie Ling, I'm the only one eating. I'm a bit embarrassed, so why don't you come with me, okay?” Xu Chencan looked at Aunt Ling with blinking eyes.

At Aunt Ling's age, Xu Chencan could already be her daughter.

Seeing how considerate Xu Chencan was, she smiled, ”Fine, I'll eat with you.” As he spoke, he picked up the chopsticks on the dining plate beside him and began to eat.

Xu Chencan's attention was diverted by Aunt Ling's sudden arrival, leaving Xue Tianning behind.

Not far away, Xue Tianning looked at the two eating together. He did not see any particular expression on their faces, but it was a little unsightly.

After dinner, Aunt Ling cleaned up the dishes while saying to Xu Chencan, ”Chencan, what do you want to eat? ”Tell me, I'll get Auntie to do it for you tonight.”

”Aunt Ling, how nice of you.” Xu Chencan's eyes curved into a smile, ”I like whatever Auntie cooks.” The food at home is so delicious, but Chu Lingyu still hasn't been fed fat, how amazing. ”

Aunt Ling laughed, ”This has always been my worry. Sir is indeed too thin. Actually, his appetite wasn't small either. I've been with him for so many years, but I couldn't figure out what his favorite dish was. I felt that no matter what dish it was, it would all be the same to him. Plus, he has less sleep and does a lot of exercise, so he's always short of meat. ”

Xu Chencan didn't really care much about Chu Lingyu, but she just said it casually. She didn't think that Aunt Ling would give her such a serious answer.

For a moment, she didn't know how to reply. She felt a little awkward.

Aunt Ling didn't mind. After packing up, she took out a washed apple and handed it to her. ”Here, I want some water and vitamins.”

Aunt Ling was so considerate, Xu Chencan suddenly felt the taste of motherly love.

”Thank you, Aunt Ling.” She took the apple and was moved.

”Silly girl, what are you talking about?” Auntie Ling stood up. ”I'm leaving. Mister said he'll come pick you up in the afternoon, so I won't come.”

”Alright.” Xu Chencan got up and walked her out of the hospital, looking at her as she got on the car. ”Goodbye, Aunt Ling.”

”Goodbye.” Aunt Ling waved at her and drove away from the hospital.

Xu ChenCan turned around and saw Xue Tianning silently walking past the hospital's main hall. It was only then that she realized that she had actually released Doctor Xue's pigeon!

Heavens, it had to be known that even interns like them were under Xue Tianning's control. His temper was still unfathomable. Could it be that he was going to take revenge on her intern results by setting him up?

As Xu Chencan thought of this, his heart filled with regret.

If only he had known earlier, he would have called Xue Tianning to lunch together with Auntie Ling!
