It was hard to believe at first and no one was sure how long the effect would last. The earthquake that hit North America caused a heavy tsunami to affect the entire world, turning everything into chaos. However, that was only the beginning. The Asian continent was divided into many pieces and a lot of the land sunk into the vast seas.
Everything that existed was swept into the sea. It was hell on Earth. Human civilization was no more. At first, people tried to help each other to survive, but that didn't last for long as their own survival became more important.
People began killing each other to survive and only the strong stood on top in the survival of the fittest.
In that world, Suhee and Youngah barely made a living by prostituting themselves. At least it kept them alive for another day. Soon, they started living with those who came for their services. They bonded with each other and that helped them all survive. They had kids and finally a semblance of peace.
However, that didn't last long. The men who had protected Youngah and Suhee were killed, and so they had to find others to protect them.
'We have no choice anymore.'
It was hard to endure it any longer, especially with what just happened.
-Get her out of here! We can't have her here anymore!
-What?! We have nowhere we can go! Please don't cast us out! I will sleep with you every night! Please!
-That b*tch bit that thing off! I can't let this one pass. We can't stay with crazy people. I can keep you, but not her, she's done for. So, you either leave with her or stay alone. You decide.
It was the decision made by the group. It was cold, but correct.
”Suhee. Let's go.”
”Y-youngah?”
”Let's go find your kids.”
”R-really? Are we going to go find Jungho and Misun?”
Suhee looked excited to hear those words.
”They must be crying for me. We will have to go find them and feed them with… oh, where is the food?”
Suhee barely managed to get up and began to search the area for the lump of potatoes she had hidden.
'Yeah… at least we will go without any pain…'
Youngah bit her lip as she thought about the cliff not too far away from their location.
”Okay. Let's go. Come on.”
Youngah got up and began to walk out toward the door as people turned to look at them.
”People, I'm leave to find my kids! Farewell!”
Some looked away and some began to sob quietly, but no one got up to stop them from leaving.
”I'm sorry.”
A small voice spoke up and Youngah smiled. She had seen this happen many times before. The man who spoke opened the door for them and Youngah and Suhee walked out. They were under a bright blue sky.
”Hey! Look at the sky! Wow!”
The cool fall sky had appeared and Youngah and Suhee stood there looking up at it. Suhee then turned to Youngah and asked, ”Okay, where are we heading to now?”
”That way. We'll check the cliff and find a way from there.”
”Sure. That place is high, so we can see where to go. Or maybe we can even find traces of where our kids went.”
Of course, that was impossible. Their kids were most likely were taken away by monster birds. Youngah shook her head and grabbed Suhee's hand tightly as they started walking.
”Okay. Let's go now.”
