“If you have something to say, just say it. Your stare is extremely terrifying!”

My stomach growled in hunger. The fragrant noodles were right in front of me, but I didn’t dare to move my chopsticks.

That day at the police station, Su Li had caused such a ruckus just so that Fu Hansheng could stay by her side. In the end, that man did not care at all after sending her to the hospital.

He who is nasty would bring about his own destruction. That perfectly described Fu Hansheng.

One day, he would be struck by lightning.

“I’m hungry.”

Just a few simple words and my bowl of food became his.

“Oh, then you eat. I’ll cook some more.”

I simply shut my mouth and got myself something else.

When I got to the table, Fu Hansheng had already put down his chopsticks. He blurted out of the blue, “Are you investigating what happened six years ago? Are you planning to find that person and start contacting him, then start a new life?”

I froze.

“Didn’t we agree not to ask about each other’s lives? Did you seriously send someone to stalk me?”

There was pin-drop silence.

That handsome face was icy and heartless. He intoned, “Do you think a woman abandoned by me, Fu Hansheng, can find a better man?”

I saw that Fu Hansheng’s face was filled with suppressed rage. I put down my chopsticks, got up, and went to the kitchen expressionlessly.

After keeping my kitchenware, I headed straight back to my room without even glancing toward the dining room.

The good thing about sharing a room with Fu Hansheng was that I didn’t have to care about what I wore at night. I washed up and came out of the bathroom with only a towel wrapped around me.

I turned on the music and put on a facial mask. Just as I was about to get into bed, I heard the door unlocking.

I tried to stop it, but it was too late.
