Chapter 17 - He’s Not Good Enough (2/2)
Lou Xue saw that the situation was getting out of control, so she quickly tugged at Song Wei and said, “Grandpa, don’t listen to her. She’s too thin-skinned to admit those things in front of so many people. Please don’t ask her further. I heard that she specially prepared a piano song for your birthday.”
‘Village woman, just wait to make a fool of yourself!’
A person who came from the countryside probably had not even seen a piano before. She could not wait to see Song Wei embarrassing herself.
Song Wei was practically pushed to sit in front of the piano by Lou Xue. Lou Xue leaned against her ear and reminded her maliciously, “If you’re ready, then let’s begin. You said that you wanted to play a piano song to celebrate Grandpa’s birthday. You can’t just run away.”
In other words, regardless of whether Song Wei knew how to play the piano or not, she had to bite the bullet and sit there.
If she played, she would be mocked. If she did not play, she would be considered lying to the old master and not giving him face.
Lou Xue’s methods were too shallow. The socialites quickly realized that Lou Xue was teasing this village woman. Even so, they did not mind watching a good show to spice up the boring banquet.
‘A village woman playing the piano? Can she do it? She has probably only seen such an elegant thing in TV dramas, right? Can she understand the music score? She doesn’t even know where to put her hands, right?’
At this moment, the rich people’s bad side was fully displayed.
Lou Xue walked to An Nuan’s side. The two of them exchanged glances. An Nuan said softly, “Lil’ Xue, you’re really amazing.”
“Who asked her to be so cheap? She actually wanted to get on Third Elder Brother’s good side. In that case, I’ll let her know how big the gap between her and us is. I’ll let her know that there are some people that she can’t even dream of.” Lou Xue crossed his arms and laughed as she gloated over Song Wei’s misfortune. “I’m doing this for her own good. I’ll let her understand reality and go back to where she belongs.”
A village woman should be matched with a village man.
It was obvious that this piano was expensive. The surface of the piano was very shiny. Song Wei could clearly see from the reflection that her face was still covered in mud. Her body was dirty, and her hair was messy. She looked like a village woman who had just returned from working in the fields.
The waves of laughter from behind continued, but Song Wei turned a deaf ear to them. She picked up a tissue and slowly wiped off the dirt on her fingertips. Following that, she raised her delicate hands slightly and placed them on the piano keys.
Lou Junchen stood outside the crowd and could clearly see Song Wei’s slender hands. She was not like the socialites he usually saw, who did all kinds of manicures on their nails. Song Wei’s fingers were clean, and her nails were very well-maintained, her fingertips were white and tender, and her skin was delicate. There was no sign of her doing farm work.
She sat on the piano stool with a straight back. Her neck was slender and graceful. Even though she was wearing dirty clothes and her hair was messy, it could not hide the indifferent and distant temperament around her.. This kind of temperament that emanated from the inside could suppress most of the socialites present.
