Chapter 1477 - Is Nian Xi Gone? (1/2)

Murong Cheng looked at him with mixed feelings.

At the very beginning, she did not dislike Feng Ji Chuan. However, after he broke off the engagement with her daughter, and when she realized that it was because of the incident with Leng Shuangwei, she came to have a negative opinion of him. Leng Shuangwei was that woman’s daughter after all.

“I appreciate your help,” Murong Cheng eventually uttered out these four words. “You should also head back soon to rest.”

“Let’s wait until she regains consciousness. Otherwise, I won’t be able to sleep even if I go home anyway.” Feng Ji Chuan turned to look at Nian Xi, who was lying on the bed, and there was a deep look in his eyes.

Just when Murong Cheng was about to say something, Feng Ji Chuan turned his head back and added, “Don’t worry, Aunty. I know that you don’t like to see me. I’ll go out now.”

After he said this, he began to walk out of the ward.

Just then, Murong Cheng stood up and replied, “Ji Chuan, things are over between the two of you. Xixi has a boyfriend now. I’m sure you’ll meet a better person too.”

“I have nothing to say if her boyfriend can treat her better than I do and give her a sense of security. Besides, Nian Xi isn’t merely just my ex-girlfriend. We grew up together.” With that, Feng Ji Chuan walked out of the ward.

As the grey skies barely brightened, the person on the bed abruptly jerked up and let out a few muted moans.

Nian Junting quickly paged for the doctor. After the doctor conducted another round of checks, Nian Xi slowly regained her consciousness. Her eyes weakly scanned the room before she murmured, “Mom… Brother… Ji Chuan…”

As she tried to string her words together, she felt tightness in her chest. Immediately after, the doctor swiftly cupped the oxygen mask over her mouth.

“Don’t say anything. The doctor said that your lungs are slightly injured, so you better rest well.” Murong Cheng caressed Nian Xi’s head, her heart awash with sympathy for her daughter.

Nian Xi nodded her head.

“Xixi, are you hungry?” Feng Ji Chuan asked gently. “I’ll go get you some breakfast.”

“It’s best for her to have some porridge and milk. Solid foods that are too tough aren’t suitable for her,” the doctor reminded.

“Sure,” Feng Ji Chuan replied, and he headed out of the ward before Nian Junting could do so.
