Jiang Yuning blinked. A few seconds later, he shook his head.

“Why?”

Nian Xi was unhappy. It was her first time being rejected by him.

“I don’t like being a matchmaker.” Jiang Yuning shook his head. “I don’t want to stick my nose in other people’s business.”

“But Fang Qi is really nice. Think about it. He put in a good word for you in front of me,” Nian Xi said. “If she’s single too, I think we can introduce them to each other. They can always be friends. The social circle of scientists can be rather narrow. You don’t meet a lot of people, so maybe she needs us to introduce her to new friends.”

Jiang Yuning furrowed his delicate brows. At last, he dropped his head and said, “Let me ask her.”

He spent a short while on his phone. A couple of minutes later, he said, “Xinxin said no.”

“Xinxin?” Nian Xi raised her brows.

“Hm.” Jiang Yuning didn’t detect the weird look in Nian Xi’s eyes.

“Do you guys know each other well? You called her in such an intimate way.” Nian Xi curved her lips downward. “Are you really just work pals?”

“I’ve called her that since we were little.” Jiang Yuning’s innocent eyes were filled with confusion. “Is something wrong with that?”

“So you have a childhood sweetheart too?” The longer the conversation lasted, the more information Nian Xi got out of him. She wasn’t happy to know about it.

“You’ve never mentioned that to me,” she said.

“That’s not important. She’s not my ex-girlfriend.” Jiang Yuning started to set up the robot.

Nian Xi blamed herself. She should have guessed it. Whoever made such a cute and exquisite robot must be a girl. Jiang Yuning’s friend was so capable. What on earth did that girl have in her head? Nian Xi believed the girl must be much, much smarter than herself.

“Does she like you?”

“Why would she like me?” Jiang Yuning was more and more confused. “Xi, are you jealous?”

Of course, she wouldn’t admit it.
